Actor, director and writer directly picked the best moments from "Moon River" that were revealed.
MBC Friday-Saturday drama "Moon River" (writer Jo Seung-hee/ director Lee Dong-hyun/ planner Kwon Seong-chang/ production High Jeum Studio) swings between comedy, romance and even fantasy in the story of the "Gang-Dal couple," moving and amusing everyone and delivering full emotional impact each episode. Meanwhile, actor Kang Tae-oh (as Lee Gang) and Kim Se-jung (as Park Dal-i), along with director Lee Dong-hyun and writer Jo Seung-hee, personally shared the scenes and lines they love most in the drama, drawing attention.
Kang Tae-oh, who is proving his singular presence by revealing the many faces of Crown Prince Lee Gang as he moves between pure love and revenge, chose Lee Gang's line, "You are very lucky. You happened to meet me with that face." He said, "The way he speaks and the atmosphere show Lee Gang's character well, and I felt it strongly as a line that seems to mark the start of the strange fate between Lee Gang and Park Dal-i, so it was impressive," once again touching on the core narrative of the two characters.
Kim Se-jung, who has been delivering an irreplaceable performance portraying the dramatic ups and downs from Park Dal-i as a grieving mother to Crown Princess Kang Yeon-wol, picked the scene where Lee Gang and Park Dal-i first switch bodies and wake up. "I actually couldn't sleep the night before we filmed that scene, and after filming my voice was hoarse for several days, which was awkward. Because it was going to be a key scene of our drama, I thought a lot about how to make it funny enough without going overboard," she revealed, sharing an exciting behind-the-scenes memory.
Meanwhile, director Lee Dong-hyun's special affection for the episode 11 ending scene where Park Dal-i and Lee Gang, with their memories restored, face each other also drew attention. "When Lee Gang asks, 'Do you know what happens if you catch a falling petal?' Park Dal-i replies, 'You must have caught two that fell. You were first love and married twice, after all,' and in this scene the two actors were deeply immersed and gave passionate performances. It was a scene that was very well expressed, with the drama's overarching context and the actors' performances stitched together," he added.
Writer Jo Seung-hee, who said her favorite line is Lee Gang's "You are the exception to all my anger," commented, "It is a confession that Park Dal-i became Lee Gang's number one and a line that contains Lee Gang's way of loving. It is the expansion of the domain of the existence called 'I' to include the other. Furthermore, it is the confession that the other is more precious than myself. If I may define it boldly, love is the intersection of selfishness and altruism, so it fits best with the 'Isangdal' worldview in which the other's revenge becomes my revenge," reflecting on its profound meaning.
Thus, "Moon River" contains scenes and lines that fully capture the fateful narrative of two people overcoming all manner of hardship, delivering both cheerful laughter and poignant emotion that draw many people in. With Lee Gang and Park Dal-i's revenge and the crisis blocking them reaching a climax, viewers are eager to see what other moments will deliver deep resonance in upcoming broadcasts.
