Malicious commenters who wrote malicious posts targeting EXO member Baekhyun were sentenced to fines.
INB100 shared the progress of legal action regarding the spreading false information and malicious posts related to Baekhyun in an official statement on the 18th.
Baekhyun's side said, "We have formally filed complaints with investigative agencies based on monitoring data collected internally and materials reported by fans. This matter involves multiple criminal charges, including violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation), insult, and violation of the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes, and some cases have already received meaningful legal judgments, while the remaining cases are also being conducted strictly according to procedure," they said.
According to the agency, the case filed at the Seoul Gwangjin Police Station in April was sentenced to a fine. The cases filed at the Seoul Gangnam Police Station in May and at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency cybercrime unit in September are currently under investigation.
Baekhyun's side added, "The complaint and investigation process may take some time, but we will share any meaningful developments with fans as quickly as possible."
They also said, "Regardless of whether complaints proceed, internal monitoring operates continuously, and fans' reports will continue to be reviewed and used as materials for legal response."
