The Netflix original Physical: Asia spin-off variety show Physical: Welcome to Mongolia has released a main poster set against the Mongolian snowy plains, raising expectations.
"Physical: Welcome to Mongolia" is a special Physical friendship travelogue in which the Mongolian team, which fiercely faced off against Korea in the finals, invites their Korean team friends to their "home Mongolia" this time.
The story follows Mongolian team captain Urengbuyan, who said he would invite the Korean team to Mongolia, and Korean team captain Kim Dong-hyun, who said he would visit Mongolia if he won, as they meet again in Mongolia to keep their promises; the cast includes Korea team members Kim Dong-hyun and Amotti, and Mongolian team members Urengbuyan and Laghbaochir.
The released poster raises anticipation with the cast dressed in traditional Mongolian costumes alongside a surprise appearance by Australian strongman Eddie. Kim Dong-hyun, Urengbuyan, Laghbaochir and Eddie are shown smiling broadly while holding Amotti, who is lying horizontally, conveying a warm and friendly atmosphere. In particular, with the snow-covered plains and the Mongolian traditional dwelling ger as the backdrop, curiosity is further piqued about the special Physical friendship journey that will unfold in the vast natural landscape.
"Physical: Welcome to Mongolia" will show an authentic Mongolian-style trip through a travel schedule that Mongolian traditional wrestling champion Urengbuyan personally arranged from A to Z, highlighting places real Mongolian people visit and local eateries they go to. Viewers will also see a special circus performance by Laghbaochir, a member of Cirque du Soleil, as well as an archery contest held on the snowy plains. As the Netflix original Physical: Asia has become a national content in Mongolia and created a phenomenon, interest and expectations for this spin-off have also increased. Immediately after the launch news was announced, strong reactions poured in, such as "the production team is amazing" and "you have to watch this."
In particular, interest grew when it was revealed that PD Jang Ho-gi, who directs Physical: Asia, met Mongolia's prime minister during this trip. The cast also attended the meeting, and it was reported they could feel the intense local popularity firsthand. The Physical: Asia spin-off Physical: Welcome to Mongolia was produced in four episodes, and episodes 1 and 2 will be released on Netflix at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 (Wednesday). Episodes 3 and 4 will be available at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 (Wednesday).
