BTS's 'Anpanman' reached the top of major global charts about 7 years and 7 months after its release.
"Anpanman" is a track on BTS's third studio album LOVE YOURSELF 轉 'Tear', released in May 2018. The song re-entered Billboard's latest "World Digital Song Sales" chart (Dec. 20) at No. 1, according to a release. It drew attention by appearing at No. 7 on the "Digital Song Sales" chart.
"Anpanman" signaled the start of a global resurgence, reaching No. 1 on iTunes "Top Songs" charts across a total of 75 countries/regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Mexico, through Dec. 9. On the U.K. Official Charts announced on the 13th, it showed presence at No. 12 on the "Official Singles Downloads" chart and No. 24 on the "Official Singles Sales" chart.
"Anpanman" compares BTS to Anpanman, a hero known for tearing off his head to feed the hungry, a hero without superpowers but who can stay close for a long time. It is a work condensed with the team's sincerity in wanting to convey hopeful energy to people through music and performance. In particular, the lyrics "Even so, even if I have to use all my strength / I will definitely be by your side / I will fall again but believe in me because I am a hero" symbolically show a message of solidarity and consolation. That the song is being loved again at a time when a full-group comeback is scheduled for next spring is interpreted as the result of support gathered from ARMY, the fandom that has waited for them for a long time.
Solo songs by the group's members have also continued long runs on Billboard's detailed charts. Jungkook's solo single "Seven (feat. Latto)" (No. 150) and Jin's second solo album Echo title track "Don't Say You Love Me" (No. 166) made the "Global 200." On the "Global (excluding U.S.)" chart, "Don't Say You Love Me," "Seven (feat. Latto)" and Jimin's second solo album MUSE title track "Who" ranked No. 79, No. 81 and No. 137, respectively. BTS's anthology album Proof sat at No. 9 on the "World Albums" chart, showing enduring love even three years after its release. Jimin's "MUSE" reached No. 18 on that chart.
The members' tours also left meaningful results. Billboard on the 15th released the "Top 10 Highest Grossing K-Pop Tours of the Year" for 2025. J-Hope's first solo world tour j-hope Tour 'HOPE ON THE STAGE' and Jin's first solo fan concert #RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR ranked third and seventh on the list. In particular, J-Hope ranked the highest among solo artists.
According to Billboard, J-Hope performed a total of 33 shows in Asia and North America, drawing over 500,000 attendees. Jin drew about 300,000 attendees through 18 shows across Asia, North America and Europe. The fact that strong results were achieved despite the encore fan concert held Oct. 31–Nov. 1 at Incheon Munhak Stadium main stadium not being included in the tally adds greater significance. The list is based on official data from Billboard Boxscore. It was calculated based on performances held worldwide from Oct. 2024 through Sept. 2025.
According to Oricon Japan's "Annual Ranking 2025" released on the 17th (counting period: Dec. 23, 2024–Dec. 15, 2025), Jin's second solo album Echo ranked No. 39 on the "Album Ranking." This is the best result among Korean solo artists.
