'6시 내고향' Kim Jeong-yeon shone with the interview poise of the national hostess.
On the 16th broadcast of KBS1's '6시 내고향,' the segment showed Kim Jeong-yeon, the "national hostess," boarding a bus in Mungyeong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and meeting neighbors to hear their life stories.
The first hint for finding the attraction that day was the words "112 POLICE." Faced with such a vague hint, Kim Jeong-yeon felt a heavy heart but, as always, greeted the passengers with lively salutations and a bright smile.
While continuing the interviews, Kim Jeong-yeon met an elderly passenger wearing a mask. When the elder said, "My son does work in that field. He is a film director," Kim Jeong-yeon widened her eyes. But the elder seemed shy about appearing on TV and hesitated. At that moment, Kim Jeong-yeon's quick-witted remark instantly changed the mood. She asked, "Please take off your mask and brag about your son once."
After a moment of hesitation, the elder said, "If it's for my son, I will," removed the mask and revealed his face. He then began proudly speaking about his son: "My son is Park Min-woo, who co-directed the film Dog eat dog about the kidnapping of Koreans in the Philippines with a friend named Hwang Wook. He has dreamed of becoming a film director since third grade in elementary school and never strayed from that path."
He jokingly added, "I never opposed his dream of becoming a film director since he was young, but thinking back now, I should have opposed it." Nevertheless, respecting his son's dream, the elder said, "That was a mother's ambition. He says he is happy doing what he wants," and delivered a video message: "Only successful days will come from now on. Cheer up. Mom and dad will work hard on apple farming, so you work hard too."
Thanks to Kim Jeong-yeon's exceptional interview skills that even quickly changed the mind of the elder who was embarrassed about appearing on TV, the Mungyeong bus was full of joyful stories. Although she failed to earn a smile that day as well, Kim Jeong-yeon, who made new memories while obtaining additional hints with the show's avid elderly viewers, visited Mungyeong's hidden attraction, Mungyeong Ecological Maze Park, and provided viewers with entertainment and information.
The activities of the "national hostess" Kim Jeong-yeon, who naturally opens everyone's hearts, will continue through various broadcasts and stages.
