Broadcaster and former KBS announcer Jo Subin recounted an episode in which she almost went on a blind date with former soccer player Park Ji-sung.
On the 16th, a video titled "first time talking about the KBS 9 p.m. anchor's marriage story ...ft. the absolute best dress shop" was uploaded to "Jo Subin Curation."
That day, Jo Subin visited the dress shop where she had her wedding dress made to do a dress fitting for an end-of-year awards ceremony. While there, seeing the wedding photos of Park Ji-sung and former announcer Kim Min-ji displayed in the waiting room, Jo Subin humorously complained, "Don't you have my photo?" expressing mock disappointment.
She said, "Park Ji-sung was really popular among us announcers. I also read Park Ji-sung's autobiography and thought he was so cool. The way he thinks. (An acquaintance) said, 'Then I'll introduce you to Ji-sung.' But a few days later I was told, 'Hey, they say your resume is too overwhelming so they won't do it,'" sharing the episode and drawing attention.
She added, "I don't know if it's true or not. That's how the answer came back and the blind date ultimately fell through," and joked, "Maybe they rejected me just because it was me.."
She candidly said, "Because I did the 9 p.m. news, it wasn't only Park Ji-sung. I didn't get to meet him at all, and I received many introductions."
Jo Subin is a graduate of Seoul National University in linguistics and economics. She joined KBS as a public broadcaster announcer in the 31st class in 2005, resigned in 2019, and has worked as a freelancer since. She married an employee of a foreign financial company in 2011 and has one son and one daughter.
