Comedian Park Na-rae has been embroiled in various controversies, and her ex-boyfriend has also become the subject of an investigation.
On the 17th, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul received a report alleging violation of the Personal Information Protection Act by Park Na-rae's ex-boyfriend, Mr. A.
Mr. A is accused of having obtained resident registration numbers, addresses and other information from two managers who were working for her at the time and one stylist under the pretext of preparing employment contracts and submitting them to the police.
An internet user who learned of the matter through a YouTube channel filed a complaint with the police against Mr. A. A lead investigator has since been assigned, and an investigation is expected to begin.
Park Na-rae is currently embroiled in various disputes with her former managers. The former managers accused Park Na-rae of verbal abuse, aggravated assault, keeping them on constant standby, and personal errands, among other abuses of power. They also filed complaints accusing Park Na-rae of operating as an unregistered one-person agency and of illegal medical procedures.
In particular, the former managers raised issues such as excessive working hours due to being on constant standby, unpaid severance pay, and unpaid expenses, while Park Na-rae's ex-boyfriend has been accused of receiving a high salary.
In addition, Park Na-rae's illegal medical procedures have sparked the greatest controversy. She is accused of receiving illegal medical treatments from people who were not licensed medical professionals, nicknamed "injection aunt" and "IV aunt," including being given prescription drugs, injections and IVs at her home and overseas filming locations rather than at hospitals.
In response, Park Na-rae has suspended all broadcasting activities and countersued her former managers on charges of extortion.
