SHINee member Key expressed his feelings and apologized over the controversy surrounding comedian Park Na-rae's "injection aunt" accusation.
On the 17th, Key wrote on his social media, "I sincerely apologize for worrying many people due to the various stories about me these days."
He bowed his head and said, "I, too, am confused and embarrassed by newly learned facts and apologize for not being able to clarify my position and disclose what I will do going forward sooner."
He added, "I had prided myself on being able to stay away from these kinds of things, but that thinking seems to have kept me from more wisely looking around, and I am deeply sorry and ashamed to the many people who trusted and supported me."
Finally, Key said, "I will earnestly do everything I can regarding this matter. I will take time to reflect on myself and my surroundings. I am sincerely sorry once again."
Meanwhile, on the same day Key's agency SM Entertainment explained about the issue, "Key visited a hospital in Gangnam District where a person surnamed Lee worked based on a friend's recommendation and first came to know him as a doctor. Key continued to receive treatment at that hospital, and when recent hospital visits were difficult, he received treatment at home a few times. He believed Lee was a doctor and, because Lee made no particular mention to the contrary, did not think receiving treatment at home would be problematic," the agency said.
They added, "Key only recently became aware for the first time of the controversy over Mr. Lee's medical license and that he was not a doctor, and he is very confused and is deeply reflecting on his own ignorance. Therefore, recognizing the seriousness of the matter, Key has decided to withdraw from his scheduled commitments and the programs in which he is appearing."
