Three months after the death of the late Daedoseogwan, YouTube Korea looked back on his accomplishments in an official video.
On the 17th, the YouTube Korea channel released a video titled "We will remember every moment with Daedoseogwan."
YouTube Korea explained the reason for posting the video, saying, "At a year-end gathering of YouTube creators, heartfelt messages to Daedoseogwan were collected. We want to share these feelings with the fans who have loved Daedoseogwan. YouTube will cherish and remember all the time spent with Daedoseogwan."
The video included footage of Daedoseogwan during his lifetime. In response to the question "Why is your name Daedoseogwan?" he answered, "To contain all the knowledge of the world and deliver it to you easily and entertainingly," and it went over his accomplishments, including the date he joined YouTube, May 13, 2010, 1,480,000 subscribers, 11,681 videos, and 1.6 billion views.
Especially after Daedoseogwan passed away, the memorial comments left by subscribers on the videos were revealed, adding to the poignancy. Among them, a comment that read "My first YouTuber, it was enjoyable and I am thankful. Rest peacefully there" struck an emotional chord.
At the end, messages from creators missing Daedoseogwan were also revealed. YouTube Korea expressed its condolences, saying, "We will always remember Daedoseogwan who shone on YouTube."
Regarded as a first-generation domestic internet broadcaster who received much love, Daedoseogwan was found dead at his home in Gwangjin District, Seoul, on Sept. 6. Police and fire authorities responded to a report from an acquaintance that he had not shown up at a promised time and could not be reached, but he was already dead when they arrived at his home. No suicide note or signs of homicide were found at the scene.
