The group VVUP is stepping up its full-scale global activities, starting with Indonesia, the homeland of member Kim.
VVUP (Kim, Pan, Suyeon, Jiyoon) will hold a fan event, "House Party with VVUP," in Jakarta, Indonesia, on the 26th–27th (local time). In addition to performances, they will hold meet-and-greets and fan signings to interact closely with local fans.
In particular, this is VVUP's first visit to Indonesia since their debut, and its significance is even greater because it is member Kim's homeland. VVUP has topped the Indonesian iTunes K-pop charts with every comeback, and leveraging their local popularity, they chose Indonesia as the starting point for their global expansion.
This promotion draws even more attention as it is held together with luxury golf wear brand MARK & LONA, which collaborated with VVUP on a collection. News of the collaboration between VVUP and MARK & LONA was widely covered by 92 local Japanese media outlets at the time, demonstrating VVUP's global popularity.
Through their recent first mini album VVON, VVUP announced a successful rebranding across music, performance and visuals, expanding their presence across the globe from Asia to Latin America, the Middle East and Europe. VVUP placed many new and previously released songs on the iTunes K-pop charts in Mexico and France, achieving what is known as a "lineup," and solidified their position as steady sellers amid rising domestic and international momentum.
In addition, VVON reached No. 1 on the iTunes R&B/Soul charts in Indonesia and Thailand immediately after release, and also ranked high on the Apple Music K-pop charts in Brazil and Portugal. The title track "Super Model" also reached the top of the Apple Music chart in Qatar, and the music video is currently approaching 14 million views.
VVUP will hold fan events on the 26th and 27th at Lippo Puri Mall and Kota Kasablanka in Jakarta, Indonesia. Attendance at the fan events will be selected from purchasers of the MARK & LONA collection T-shirts.
