HYBE and Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE's popularity has not cooled off at the end of the year. With holiday season songs dominating the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, their song "Gabriela" is showing strong staying power.
According to the latest chart released by Billboard on the 12th (local time) (dated Dec. 20), KATSEYE's second EP "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS" track "Gabriela" rose to No. 60 on the Hot 100. It is on the chart for a cumulative 21 weeks. In addition, the song ranked No. 9 on the Pop Airplay chart, which is compiled based on radio broadcast counts and listening data in the United States, setting the group's highest-ever position.
Considering that as many as 40 of the songs up to No. 60 on this week's Hot 100 are effectively carols, their momentum is remarkable. Despite most of the tracks from the Netflix series soundtrack "KPop Demon Hunters," except for "Golden," dropping off the chart, "Gabriela" held its place within the ranking.
The EP "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS," which includes "Gabriela," is also continuing its strength on the main album charts. The album, which previously reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 (dated July 12), rose to No. 35 this week, marking 24 consecutive weeks on the chart. It ranked No. 7 on Top Album Sales and No. 6 on Top Current Album Sales.
KATSEYE, which achieved remarkable results this year, has also stood out in year-end metrics on major global platforms. On Billboard's recently released year-end charts, "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS" ranked No. 182 on the Billboard 200 Albums, and the tracks "Gnarly" and "Gabriela" placed No. 161 and No. 163, respectively, on the Billboard Global 200 Songs.
On TikTok's "Year in Music," KATSEYE recorded about 30 billion views and was named Global Artist of the Year. On Google's "Year in Search 2025," they ranked No. 2 in the U.S. Trending Musicians category, standing alongside global artists such as Coldplay and Doechii.
KATSEYE was formed through the global audition project based on the so-called "K-pop methodology," 'The Debut: Dream Academy,' and debuted in the United States in June last year. Led by HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk, noted as a representative success of the "multi-home, multi-genre" strategy, they were nominated in two categories — best new artist and best pop duo/group performance — at the 68th Grammy Awards to be held on Feb. 1 next year.
