Actor Han So-hee shared her thoughts on taking on her first commercial film with Project Y.
On the afternoon of the 16th, a production briefing for the film Project Y was held at Megabox COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Present at the event were the film's lead actors Han So-hee, Jeon Jong-seo, Kim Shin-rok, Jung Young-joo, Lee Jae-gyun, and YooA (Oh My Girl), along with director Lee Hwan, who talked about the film under the moderation of Jaejae.
Project Y is a film that depicts the story of Miseon (Han So-hee) and Dokyung (Jeon Jong-seo), who live in the middle of a dazzling city dreaming of a different tomorrow and end up stealing black money and gold bullion at the edge of their lives.
In particular, Han So-hee has taken on a wide range of genres and roles since showing a distinctive presence in the drama The World of the Married, from the high-difficulty action performances in the series My Name to the deep emotional acting in Gyeongseong Creature. Through these steady challenges and repeated transformations in her acting, Han So-hee is expected to show a new face once again by portraying Miseon, who dreams of an ordinary life and plunges into danger in Project Y.
Miseon, played by Han So-hee, is a character who lives fiercely while dreaming of an ordinary life and longs for a moment to escape her arduous reality. When that moment is right before her, Miseon, who has lost everything, plans to steal the black money from To boss to regain what she has lost, and together with her friend Dokyung (Jeon Jong-seo) she throws herself into a life-threatening danger.
To this, she said with a smile, "I received the script first and I had also enjoyed the director's previous work Park Hwa-young, so I approached the shoot with that expectation. For me, this is also my debut in a commercial film, so I approached it carefully and seriously. I felt a sense of responsibility."
Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo also contributed to the character wardrobe styling. Han So-hee said, "I would be very grateful if you consider it help. The costume team must have had a concept, but from the standpoint of playing Miseon I actively reflected on 'this is the kind of clothing Miseon should wear.' I am very thankful they accepted that. In reality we couldn't buy many clothes, so we researched signature colors and patterns a lot."
Jeon Jong-seo explained, "As So-hee said, we thought it would be good for each of us to have our own patterns and signature colors, so that Dokyung and Miseon's characters would remain strongly iconic for viewers. We chose colors and patterns that Miseon could carry, that suited her best and would show Miseon, and I took 'red' as mine."
Han So-hee also prepared props herself. She said with an embarrassed laugh, "It's not a big thing," and added, "I used my own makeup pouch and filled it with my cosmetics to use as a prop that Miseon often carries. I thought it would be good to have a sense of everyday life, so I used what I used."
Project Y opens on Jan. 21, 2026.
