From allegations of abusive treatment by a former manager to controversy over illegal medical procedures by the so-called "injection auntie," comedian Park Na-rae, embroiled in various accusations, broke her silence after about eight days and spoke again. But instead of direct explanations, she repeatedly said she would "leave it to legal procedures," which has made public opinion even more divided.
In a video released on the YouTube channel "Baek Eun-young's Golden Time" on the 16th, Park Na-rae bowed her head and said, "I take seriously that the recently raised issues have caused worry and fatigue to many people." It was the first time she expressed an official position since announcing a suspension of activities via social media on the 8th.
She explained, "Because of these issues, I voluntarily stepped down from all the programs I was doing. It was a choice made in the hope of not causing further confusion or burden to the production staff and colleagues." She added, "Regarding the issues currently raised, there are parts where the facts need to be calmly verified, so legal procedures are underway," and drew a line by saying, "I will not make additional public remarks or explanations during that process."
Park Na-rae emphasized, "This matter is not about personal feelings or relationships but is an issue that should be objectively confirmed through official procedures," and said, "It is not a choice to blame someone or assign responsibility, but a judgment to sort things out by excluding emotions and personal judgment."
Earlier, Park Na-rae was exposed by former managers to allegations of so-called "abusive treatment," including verbal abuse, special assault, being on constant call, and personal errands, along with revelations of proxy prescriptions, illegal medical procedures, and nonpayment of hosting fees. The former managers announced plans for a lawsuit seeking about 100 million won in damages along with an application for a real estate provisional seizure, and controversy also erupted over Park Na-rae's agency, Anpark, being unregistered in the field of popular culture and arts planning.
In response, Park Na-rae's side counter-sued the former managers on charges of extortion, saying they demanded excessive money after leaving, and denied the unregistered planning business issue by claiming that the former manager falsely reported that registration had been completed. However, the former managers later claimed they additionally accused Park Na-rae of embezzlement, arguing that she falsely registered an ex-boyfriend as an agency employee and paid about 44 million won in salary, and transferred 300 million won of company funds as a deposit.
The controversy widened further with allegations of illegal medical procedures carried out by so-called "injection aunties" or "IV drip aunties" who do not have medical licenses. Park Na-rae's side denied this as "false information," explaining that she received home-visit treatment from a person with a medical license, but as the former managers continued with additional revelations, the dispute over the truth has continued.
Although Park Na-rae expressed her position amid these circumstances, public opinion was not easily convinced. Among internet users, responses continued such as "There was ultimately no explanation for the core allegations," "It sounded like an explanation but said nothing," and "She only mentioned legal procedures; there is no satisfying truth." On the other hand, some said they understood Park Na-rae's choice, commenting, "Right now, a single word could spark another controversy," and "It's right to sort this out legally rather than through a public argument."
At the end of the video, Park Na-rae said, "Many stories are being exchanged, but I do not want anyone else to be hurt or for this to turn into unnecessary controversy," and said, "I will stop all activities for the time being and focus on resolving this matter." She reiterated, "I will not make related remarks after this video to avoid creating further controversy."
