Comedian Park Na-rae, who faced allegations ranging from power harassment toward former managers to illegal medical practices through an injection aunt, broke her silence after eight days and spoke again. However, instead of explaining the allegations against her, she chose silence once more.
On the 16th, Park Na-rae said in a video released on the YouTube channel "Baek Eun-young's Golden Time," "I take seriously that the recent issues have caused worry and fatigue to many people."
Park Na-rae spoke directly for the first time eight days after she announced a suspension of activities on her SNS account. He opened by saying, "I voluntarily withdrew from all the programs I was doing because of these issues. I made that choice because I no longer wanted to cause confusion or burden to the production staff and colleagues."
She continued, "There are parts of the facts that need to be calmly confirmed regarding the issues currently raised, and legal procedures are underway. In that process, I will refrain from further public remarks or explanations. I judge that this matter is not an issue of personal feelings or relationships but should be objectively confirmed through official procedures," saying she would leave it to legal procedures without making additional statements.
Park Na-rae emphasized, "This choice is not to blame someone or to seek accountability but a decision to set aside emotions and personal judgment and leave it to the process to sort things out. Many stories are circulating now, but I do not want another person to be hurt or for this to spread into unnecessary debate."
She added, "So I will stop all activities for the time being and take time to focus on organizing this matter. I will reflect on my responsibilities and attitude in my position. Issues that need time will be calmly left to the procedures and carried out. I am grateful to the many people who cared for me, and I will not speak about this matter after this video to avoid creating further controversy."
However, Park Na-rae chose silence regarding the torrent of allegations. Park Na-rae has been accused of power harassment toward former managers, controversy over illegal procedures performed through an injection aunt, allegations of paying salary and company money transfers to a former boyfriend who was employed as a staff member, and allegations that her mother did not provide the four major insurances for the former managers while her mother and former boyfriend were enrolled.
In her previous statement, she also announced the suspension of activities regarding the power harassment allegations toward managers, saying, "Two managers who had lived like family suddenly resigned, and until recently we were not given the opportunity to talk with the parties involved, so misunderstandings accumulated between us. With the help of many people, I was able to meet the former managers face to face, and while we were able to resolve misunderstandings and distrust between us, I still think everything is my fault and am deeply reflecting on it."
However, the managers said they could not reach a point of agreement with Park Na-rae, and ultimately they proceeded with legal action. On the 15th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency chief said at a regular press conference regarding the Park Na-rae case, "There are five cases in which Park Na-rae was accused, and one case was filed by Park Na-rae's side."
