Hwang Chan-sung capped off his Japan solo tour with an additional performance of CHANSUNG(2PM) 2025 Japan Tour [DAWN～The First Step～] at Tachikawa Stage Garden in Tokyo on Dec. 11.
This performance was the final stage of the tour centered on his first Japanese full-length album, DAWN, released in October, and he met fans with a rich program that featured a total of 24 songs, from new tracks to signature songs and encore numbers. Toward the end of the concert, a surprise event prepared by fans and staff followed, and Hwang Chan-sung showed overwhelming emotion.
Hwang Chan-sung resumed active local activities beginning last year with the release of his first Japanese solo single in about six years, and after releasing his first full-length album, DAWN, earlier this year, he completed the tour with this Tokyo performance following shows in Yokohama, Nagoya and Osaka. This additional show expanded the production and stage configuration to a higher degree, demonstrating a level of completion befitting a final performance.
A number of special guests also appeared at the performance. 2PM member Jun. K joined the stage for the title track 甘く 切なく く feat. Jun. K, matching energy with Hwang, and together they sang 2PM's ミダレテミナ, raising the excitement in the venue. Also joining the stage were AK-69, who collaborated on the anime Re:Monster theme song Into the Fire, and 2AM's Lee Chang-min, completing an intense joint performance.
Hwang Chan-sung opened energetically with dance numbers starting with Treasure and continuing through Angel, then demonstrated his wide vocal range by alternating between ballads and performance songs. In the Forget-me-not cover stage he left a deep impression with restrained emotional expression, and in songs such as Oh, My House, I'm your man and HIGHER he firmly established his appeal as a solo artist.
In the latter part of the concert, communication with fans continued. Hwang Chan-sung said, "Performing at the end of the year has long been a dream," and noted, "I can wrap up this year's activities like this thanks to all the fans," and he also announced next year's Blu-ray release news, which drew cheers from the audience.
At the encore he expressed thanks to fans with Fine -JP Ver.-, and after the concert a surprise video featuring tour behind-the-scenes footage and fan messages was screened, adding to the emotional atmosphere. When the slogan "First step with Chansung, our dawn has begun" was revealed in particular, Hwang Chan-sung reddened his eyes and conveyed his heartfelt gratitude.
Meanwhile, toward the end of the show it was also announced as a surprise that CHANSUNG's Birthday Night 2026 will be held at Billboard Live Tokyo on Feb. 11, 2026. Standing at a new starting line for his activities in Japan as an artist and actor, Hwang Chan-sung clearly reinforced his heightened musical capabilities and presence through this tour.
