The band Silica Gel is expanding its activities as a global band.
Silica Gel (Kim Geon-jae, Kim Chun-chu, Kim Han-ju, Choi Woong-hee) on the 15th appeared on Japan's leading music channel with 11.6 million subscribers, THE FIRST TAKE, and performed a live version of their signature song NO PAIN.
THE FIRST TAKE is filmed in a single live take and is regarded as a stage that can gauge an artist's musical ability through minimal production. From Japan's representative artists such as YOASOBI and Hikaru Utada to musicians from around the world such as Måneskin and Avril Lavigne, it has featured many performers and attracted music fans' attention.
Silica Gel, composed only of male members from Korea, was the first such band to appear on THE FIRST TAKE, reaffirming their presence not only domestically but also in Japan's music scene and drawing attention.
In an interview clip released after the live video, vocalist Kim Han-ju said the reason for choosing NO PAIN was, "It's the song that gets the best response at concerts," and added, "I hope people who watch THE FIRST TAKE video can also sing this song together at offline shows."
Earlier, Silica Gel drew about 15,000 spectators through Syn.THE.Size X and completed the largest solo concert of their career, and on the 11th they released the new single BIG VOID. With this new release, Silica Gel has been praised for expanding their musical spectrum with a fresh sound that departs from their rough, strong "metallic" sound.
Meanwhile, Silica Gel will hold Syn.THE.Size X Japan Tour in Tokyo on the 22nd and Osaka on the 23rd, further expanding contact with local fans in Japan.
