Actor Lee Ju-bin, who has chameleon-like charm, expressed her determination for "Spring Fever."
The new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama "Spring Fever," directed by Park Won-guk and written by Kim Ah-jung, scheduled to premiere on Jan. 5, 2026, is a hot pink romance set in spring that will melt even the frozen hearts of teacher Yoon Bom (played by Lee Ju-bin), who is buffeted by cold winds, and the man with a burning heart, Seon Jae-gyu (played by Ahn Bo-hyun).
Lee Ju-bin plays Yoon Bom, an unidentified high school teacher who arouses the curiosity of the townspeople. Yoon Bom, who received popularity and love in Seoul for her innate talent, closed off her heart after a shocking incident and came down to a small provincial school.
With expectations for Lee Ju-bin's performance to steady the center of the drama, she said, "When I first read the script, I thought I could enjoyably portray 'Yoon Bom,' so I definitely wanted to join," adding, "Because the filming location is a seaside village, I thought I could happily shoot feeling like I'm traveling every day," explaining her reason for choosing the project.
About the character, Lee Ju-bin said, "Yoon Bom is a mysterious teacher who came down to a rural school with her heart closed. She appears calm on the outside but has wounds and loneliness inside. As a multidimensional character where darkness and brightness coexist, I focused on delicately adjusting the emotional tone."
Challenging herself with the role of a teacher in this work, Lee Ju-bin said, "I practiced writing on the board a lot to look natural in the classroom scenes. Because I had to write on the board along with lines, I paid attention so the hand movements, gaze, and rhythm of speech would flow naturally, and I carefully refined my speech and gestures so I would feel like an actual teacher in the rapport with the students," increasing anticipation for her transformation into a teacher.
As keywords that can well express the character, Lee Ju-bin picked three: "cat," "transparency," and "stickler for rules." Lee Ju-bin said, "Bom is initially very guarded, but once she gives her heart, she is warmer and kinder than anyone. I also think she hides her emotions, but they are revealed in her expressions and actions. This frankness is one of the charms that makes Bom lovable," showing special affection for the character Yoon Bom. She continued, "(Bom) is conservative and values principles despite her flashy appearance. It seems like a personality that fits well with the profession of an 'ethics teacher.'"
Moreover, Lee Ju-bin said, "The actors' chemistry is good. Surprisingly, there were many action scenes, and actor Ahn Bo-hyun was skilled in action and helped a lot. Thanks to him, we were able to finish tense scenes smoothly," commenting on the rapport with her fellow actors. Finally, she described "Spring Fever" as a work full of healing, laughter and warmth, and urged viewers, "It will keep your heart cozy throughout and convey small comfort and smiles. Please look forward to it with the feeling of waiting for the coming spring."
