Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, a brand under Merlin Entertainments Group, announced that it will permanently display a wax figure of actor Jung Haein, who is loved by fans worldwide, predicting another wave of the Korean wave.
The newly unveiled first wax figure of Jung Haein offers a special experience that vividly captures the appeal of K-drama and will add new vitality to Madame Tussauds Hong Kong's signature K-Wave zone. Jung Haein personally unveiled his wax figure and had a special and unforgettable moment before it is permanently displayed at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.
The wax figure meticulously captured Jung Haein's unique gentle charm. Posing with both hands forming a heart in front of his chest and wearing a warm, friendly smile, it faithfully embodied the relaxed and affectionate charm loved by his fan club HAEINESS. Every element, from hair color and skin tone to the suit's silhouette and lining and even the brooch, was completed based on a precise measurement process that took about five hours.
Through numerous acclaimed works such as the dramas Something in the Rain, Spring Night, and D.P., Jung Haein established himself as a representative actor of Korea. With his characteristically warm and gentle acting, he earned the nickname "the nation's boyfriend" and formed a solid fandom, HAEINESS. This time, building on the success of the tvN drama Love Next Door and the film I, The Executioner, he was invited by Madame Tussauds Hong Kong and honored to have his likeness preserved as a wax figure.
Recalling his participation in the measurements for production, he said he felt very honored and proud to have his likeness left at a world-renowned attraction. He added that from costume selection to deciding poses, the time actively collaborating with the team during the production process was both thrilling and overwhelming, and watching the detailed steps come together into a single work was truly moving.
Wade Chang, general manager of Merlin Entertainments Hong Kong, before announcing the new lineup, expressed deep condolences for the recent tragic accident in Hong Kong, saying, "I want to extend my deepest sympathies to all those affected and their families." He went on to say, "Madame Tussauds Hong Kong continues to strengthen the K-Wave experience. Jung Haein's sincerity and professionalism enriched our collaboration. Considering the influence of K-culture in Hong Kong, his participation in the making of the wax figure will surely provide visitors with a distinctive and unforgettable experience," and added, "We are very honored to welcome Jung Haein as part of our special lineup."
Kim Yunho, head of the Korea office of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, congratulated the unveiling of Jung Haein's first wax figure and said he was pleased that it would commemorate his activities and achievements. He added that Madame Tussauds Hong Kong has consistently worked to promote Korean culture and has been expanding exhibitions of Korean artists. Especially with the growing global influence of Korean stars, he said he expects global fans and visitors to vividly experience Korea's appeal in Hong Kong through Madame Tussauds Hong Kong's wax figures.
