Hollywood director and actor Rob Reiner and his spouse were found dead at their home, and reports say their son Nick Reiner (Nick Reiner·32) was arrested on murder charges in connection with the case. In this situation, controversy is spreading as podcast remarks in which Nick Reiner mentioned engaging in sex work as a minor have been reexamined.
U.S. outlet Page Six on the 15th (local time) revisited an interview in which Nick Reiner said on the 2017 podcast "Dopey" that "as a minor in my teens I saw an online post, called a woman for sex work, and paid $200," and the outlet reported that Nick Reiner admitted he had stolen the money from his parents to pay for it.
According to the report, Nick Reiner repeatedly received treatment for drug addiction after reaching adulthood, and the contentious remarks were said to have come out during the process of discussing his past addiction experiences.
Meanwhile, multiple foreign outlets reported that Nick Reiner was recently arrested on murder charges in connection with the deaths of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, who were found dead at their Los Angeles (LA) home. He is reportedly being held without bail.
Local reports said the fallout is growing as details before and after the incident, family conflicts and Nick Reiner's past drug problems have been repeatedly raised.
