'SalonDrip2' featured Choi Sooyoung sharing a sad anecdote after her Hollywood debut.
On the 16th, a video titled 'The difference between a man saying "cute" and a woman saying "cute" | EP. 119' was posted on the YouTube channel 'SalonDrip2', with Choi Sooyoung and Kim Jaeyoung appearing.
That day, Girls' Generation alumna singer and actress Choi Sooyoung said, "It's really nice to have a hit song. When I hear songs from the Girls' Generation era pass by, I think, that's our song," expressing pride. She added, "The era when that song was popular doesn't disappear; music doesn't age," showing her everlasting affection for Girls' Generation.
Choi Sooyoung, who debuted in 2007 and has worked nonstop, recalled, "I trained as a trainee for a long time; my mother told me to prepare for college entrance exams if things didn't work out until my second year of high school," and "The last chance I thought I had was Girls' Generation; I was at a crossroads about joining a female group," she recalled. Choi Sooyoung said, "Because we didn't know how the lineup would be, I also prepared to be an actor; I auditioned for all the high school roles," and added, "The actors who sat in the audition room have become major actors our age."
Especially, Choi Sooyoung, who recently debuted in Hollywood with Ballerina, said, "It was an opportunity to rethink my life," and "Those three weeks were good; I went alone with no one, and the film company took care of everything from the moment I got off the plane," she began. But she said she felt lonely.
Choi Sooyoung said, "Even though it was fine to have no one next to me, being alone made me lonely; even if no one said anything, everything felt sad," and "The culture is different, and even when I spoke English I worried that what I said might be a curse; the next day I watched that person, kept my mouth shut and put on earphones," she said. Choi Sooyoung said, "The time I felt pitiful alone lasted a week. It was a time I had to go through," and especially added, "I remember crying once," surprising everyone.
Choi Sooyoung recalled, "When you go there you must learn action for the actors' safety," and "Even if it's not used, we trained to learn action and went to the set; they taught us how to act as if shot, and the demonstration was cool," adding, "It was the 'John Wick' stunt team; I showed them too and they said I looked like a K-drama heroine—what's wrong with that? I asked," and "We have a slow-falling bust shot. The stunt coordinator asked for 'John Wick' style, so the timing of dying was immediate."
Choi Sooyoung shared an anecdote, saying, "I held back laughter; I thought it was funny and tried it once, and they said I was good and that was the timing. When I watched 'John Wick' again, everyone dies like that," and she said she came to understand that comment.
Meanwhile, Jung Kyungho began dating Girls' Generation's Sooyoung (Choi Sooyoung) in 2012, and they have maintained a long-term relationship for 14 years.
