Actor Lee Min-jung, who surpassed 500,000 subscribers, apologized, saying "I'm sorry for using wording that caused misunderstanding," as she removed the blur from her husband Lee Byung-hun.
Earlier, when Lee Min-jung first launched her personal YouTube channel "Lee Min-jung MJ" in March, she pledged, "I will blur my husband Lee Byung-hun's face until the channel reaches 500,000 subscribers." Since then, whenever Lee Byung-hun appeared on his wife's channel his face was blurred and only his voice was heard, and many subscribers wondered when the channel would reach 500,000 so they could finally see BH's full face.
Meanwhile, on the 15th the "Lee Min-jung MJ" channel surpassed 500,000 subscribers, reaching the milestone rapidly eight months after its launch and demonstrating its popularity.
Lee Min-jung wrote in the community, "When I started YouTube and filmed my first episode I said, 'If I reach 500,000 within this year that would be really great,' and like the producers said, at about eight months after starting I am thankful to have reached 500,000. There were many shortcomings, but thank you so, so, so much for watching with interest^^," expressing her joy.
She added, "The 500,000 pledge to remove BH's blur involves the actor's portrait rights, which are more important than my pledge, so I will respect his opinion and let him selectively unblur himself when he feels comfortable. Titled "a congratulatory video flown in from overseas (not AI)" and "finally Lee Byung-hun unblurred," the video caught attention, and in it Lee Byung-hun said, "Hello, I am Lee Byung-hun. Congratulations on MJ YouTube reaching 500,000 subscribers," adding, "Now that there is no blur I am fully dressed with hair and makeup and send my greetings. I hope MJ YouTube continues to grow into a channel that brings joy to many people. Fighting," delivering his congratulatory message.
Lee Min-jung interacted live and quickly fulfilled the 500,000 pledge, and eight months after launching 'Lee Min-jung MJ' BH's blur was removed. Above all, Lee Byung-hun, who is currently staying overseas, showed affection by overcoming the time difference and sending a congratulatory video for Lee Min-jung.
