Actor Lee Chae-min decided to cancel his Taiwan tour schedule following the cancellation of his Hong Kong fan meeting due to the fire disaster.
On the 10th, the organizer of Lee Chae-min's Taiwan fan meeting '2025 LEE CHAE MIN FANMEETING TOUR "Chaem-into you" in TAIPEI' announced the fan meeting cancellation through official channels.
The organizer said "due to unavoidable force majeure reasons, we determined that it would be difficult to provide the audience with a high-quality performance experience, and therefore must regrettably announce the cancellation of this performance," and added "we are truly sorry to have caused great disappointment to the audience and offer our deep apologies."
Lee Chae-min held a fan meeting tour riding on the popularity of the tvN drama "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty," which ended in September. He was scheduled to hold fan meetings and meet global fans starting in October in Seoul and then in Jakarta, Manila, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Taiwan, Tokyo and other cities.
However, the Hong Kong fan meeting scheduled for Dec. 14 was inevitably canceled. The decision was the result of the aftermath of the large fire disaster that occurred in Hong Kong last month. At that time, a large fire broke out at the 32-story apartment complex "Wong Fuk Tai" in Tai Po in northern Hong Kong, causing heavy damage. The number of confirmed deaths so far is 160, and the number of injured has been confirmed at 79.
Because there were many casualties, and considering the social atmosphere, government-hosted and -sponsored performances and various commemorative events were postponed or canceled, and in this process Lee Chae-min's fan meeting was also inevitably canceled.
Meanwhile, the Taiwan fan meeting scheduled for Jan. 4 was also suddenly canceled after Hong Kong, attracting attention. The organizer announced full refunds and said, "once again, we thank you for your understanding and support, and hope there will be an opportunity to meet again in the future."
However, the exact reason for the cancellation has not been reported. Some linked the official position of "force majeure reasons" to the 'ban on Korean cultural content' but this has been confirmed not to be true.
Meanwhile, Lee Chae-min is set to release the Netflix original drama "Cashero" on the 26th. He is scheduled to hold a Tokyo fan meeting on Jan. 31 and continue the tour.
