'2025 SBS 연기대상' will stage a war of gods that transcends genres.
The '2025 SBS 연기대상', which will air at 9 p.m. on the 31st, released a second teaser video on the 16th (Tuesday) featuring the five grand prize nominees. Having simultaneously dominated ratings and buzz, including six consecutive years as No. 1 in the 2049 ratings, and having made viewers both cry and laugh this year, a fierce competition among acting gods is previewed, and we analyzed the grand prize nominees who made SBS a drama destination in 2025.
'The Mantis: Original Sin' is a high-density crime thriller in which the brutal serial killer 'The Mantis' is caught, and 20 years later copycat crimes occur, and a detective partners unexpectedly with the detective's mother, who has hated 'The Mantis' all her life, to solve the case. Go Hyun-jung played serial killer The Mantis, 'Jung Yi-shin,' delivering a relentless killer performance that gave viewers overwhelming immersion and proved herself the 'god of thrillers.'
'Love Scout' is an up-close care romance between Ji-yoon, the headhunting company CEO who is perfect at only 'work,' and Eun-ho, the secretary who is perfect at 'work' too, raising both the excitement and sweetness levels. Han Ji-min portrayed a headhunting CEO perfect in both career and office romance, delivering everything from deep adult-melo emotion to electrifying office romance in an unmissable romance that completed a legendary romantic chemistry in drama history, proving her ability as the 'god of melo.'
'Try' is a comic coming-of-age sports drama in which the unpredictable eccentric coach Joo Ga-ram and the perennial last-place Hanyang High School rugby team race toward victory at the national games, provoking viewers' over-immersion with thrilling direction and a one-team narrative. Yoon Kye-sang vividly portrayed the victory maker who led Hanyang High School's rugby team to the national games title with deep acting skills, so attention is focused on whether 'the god of competition' Yoon Kye-sang will win his first SBS 연기대상.
'Taxi Driver 3' is a private revenge-for-hire drama in which Rainbow Transport, a taxi company shrouded in mystery, and taxi driver Kim Do-gi complete revenge on behalf of victims in a society where 'justice is missing, one phone call is ooak.' Lee Je-hoon played God Do-gi, delivering a satisfying reeducation to heinous villains and leading Taxi Driver through season 3, showcasing his unsurpassed presence. Attention is focused on whether 'the god of justice' Lee Je-hoon will seize a second SBS 연기대상 on this momentum.
Finally, 'Buried Hearts' is an all-or-nothing revenge story in which Seo Dong-joo, who hacked 2 trillion won in political slush funds, bets everything to defeat the absolute evil that killed him and to bring down that world. Park Hyung-sik played an ambitious man who put his life all in to get what he wanted, shaking viewers' hearts with an absorbing performance. Returning to SBS after 10 years as 'the god of revenge,' all eyes are on whether Park Hyung-sik can take home the grand prize honor.
Meanwhile, voting for best couple at the '2025 SBS 연기대상' has begun, drawing attention. The best couple nominees are Han Ji-min and Lee Joon-hyuk from 'Love Scout'; Park Hyung-sik and Hong Hwa-yeon from 'Buried Hearts'; Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon from 'The Haunted Palace'; Ha Yoo-joon and Park Ji-hoo from 'Spring of Youth'; Choi Woo-shik and Jung So-min from 'Would You Marry Me?'; and Jang Ki-yong and Ahn Eun-jin from 'Dynamite Kiss' — a total of five couples.
