Group BTS member Jungkook graced the January cover of fashion magazine Elle.
This pictorial captured Jungkook's movements that combined intensity and elegance as he stood before the camera for the first time since being named global ambassador for a luxury beauty brand. It was recorded as a meaningful moment for Jungkook, who has risen as an icon representing the era beyond the genre of K-pop.
In an interview conducted alongside the pictorial shoot, Jungkook spoke about his feelings on becoming a global ambassador. He said, "I like Bleu de Chanel. It doesn't force a contrived masculinity; it expresses you as you are. It's a scent that naturally reveals presence without trying too hard, so I use it often," expressing his affection.
He was then asked about the meaning of "music," which was once a fervent dream and now has become his life itself, after Jungkook recently became the first Korean solo artist to surpass 10 billion cumulative streams on global audio and music streaming platform Spotify. He said, "I still think good music is a song that contains a good message and good lyrics. Music that transcends seasons and genres, and songs that can give strength to anyone." He added, "Of course, there are simply good songs when you hear them."
A 28-year-old youth and a global artist. When asked where and which time zone Jungkook is traveling between those identities, he answered, "Because I am someone who shows music, I think I live in the time of the people who see and hear my music. I always want to stay in that time."
Finally, with spring not far off and hinting at a full-group activity for BTS, Jungkook added, "I think this spring will be more important than any other. So I sincerely hope we safely get through the spring."
Having completed their military hiatus, BTS are preparing for a full-group comeback next year.
