'The Great Guide 2.5 - Daedanan Guide' Radungi learn the spirit of non-possessiveness in Laos.
Today (16th) at 8:30 p.m., cable channel MBC Every1's 'The Great Guide 2.5 - Daedanan Guide' episode 8 portrays the Radungi — Kim Dae-ho, Choi Daniel, Jeon So-min, and Park Ji-min — experiencing unique cultures in Laos. From religion to food, the Radungi's travelogue, which experiences Laos's daily life and culture up close, is expected to capture viewers' attention.
That day the Radungi directly encounter the alms-giving culture that takes place on the streets of Laos in the early morning. Alms-giving is a Buddhist ritual in which monks practice non-possessiveness by not owning food and receiving offerings from people. In Buddhist Laos, it is a culture deeply embedded in daily life, and the dawn streetscape itself unfolds like a ritual.
The Radungi also prepare food before dawn and participate in the alms-giving experience. In a naturally quieter, more reverent atmosphere, everyone faces this time seriously. In particular, Kim Dae-ho said, "This is my first time having an experience like this. The feeling is very strange," expressing that he was deeply moved and drawing attention. This raises curiosity about how the alms-giving experience that gave Kim Dae-ho a new feeling went.
After the alms-giving experience, the Radungi, ahead of the final itinerary of their Laos trip — camping — take on the challenge of making the local traditional dish "sin dat." Sin dat is a Laotian barbecue dish in which meat is grilled on a central griddle and vegetables and noodles are blanched in broth at the edges, characterized by the ability to enjoy grilling and shabu-shabu simultaneously.
To that end, the Radungi go to the local market from morning to buy cooking utensils and ingredients themselves. Even during the shopping process, the members' personalities are fully revealed, and Choi Daniel, who was in charge of buying cooking utensils, emerged as the "Laos big spender." Appearing with both hands full of cooking tools, Choi Daniel evoked an atmosphere as if preparing items for newlywed household, and seeing this, Jeon So-min exclaimed in surprise and laughter, "Are you... getting married?" according to reports.
