Comedian Park Na-rae spoke directly about various allegations, from abuse of power to the 'injection aunt' controversy.
On the 16th Park Na-rae conveyed her position on the pouring additional allegations through a video.
She began by saying, "I deeply accept that the recently raised matters have caused worry and fatigue to many people. I have voluntarily withdrawn from all programs I was doing because of these issues. I made that choice so that there would no longer be confusion or burden on the production staff and colleagues."
She added that she would leave the matter to legal procedures without further comment, saying, "There are parts of the current matters raised that require calm verification of the facts, and legal procedures are underway. In that process, I will refrain from making additional public remarks or explanations. I judge that this matter is not an issue of personal feelings or relationships but one that should be verified objectively through official procedures."
Park Na-rae emphasized, "This choice is not to blame someone or seek responsibility but a judgment to exclude emotions and personal judgments and leave it to the process to sort things out. Many stories are circulating now, but I do not want another person to be hurt or for this to spread into an unnecessary controversy."
She added, "So I will stop all activities for the time being and take time to focus on sorting out this matter. I will reflect on my responsibilities and attitude in my position. I will calmly leave matters that need time to the procedures and proceed. I thank the many people who have cared for me, and to avoid creating any further controversy I will not speak about this matter after this video."
Meanwhile, Park Na-rae was recently exposed by former managers for abuse of power, proxy prescriptions and illegal medical practices. The managers claimed to have suffered workplace harassment from Park Na-rae and applied to the Seoul Western District Court for a real estate provisional seizure worth 100 million won, and also announced plans to file a damages lawsuit. In response, Park Na-rae countered that the former managers demanded money with false claims. She has filed a complaint with Yongsan Police Station in Seoul against the former managers on charges including attempted extortion.
Below is Park Na-rae's full statement.
Hello, this is comedian Park Na-rae.
I deeply accept that the recently raised matters have caused worry and fatigue to many people. I have voluntarily withdrawn from all programs I was doing because of these issues. I made that choice so that there would no longer be confusion or burden on the production staff and colleagues.
There are parts of the current matters raised that require calm verification of the facts, and legal procedures are underway. In that process, I will refrain from making additional public remarks or explanations. I judge that this matter is not an issue of personal feelings or relationships but one that should be verified objectively through official procedures.
This choice is not to blame someone or seek responsibility but a judgment to exclude emotions and personal judgments and leave it to the process to sort things out. Many stories are circulating now, but I do not want another person to be hurt or for this to spread into an unnecessary controversy.
So I will stop all activities for the time being and take time to focus on sorting out this matter. I will reflect on my responsibilities and attitude in my position. I will calmly leave matters that need time to the procedures and proceed. I thank the many people who have cared for me, and to avoid creating any further controversy I will not speak about this matter after this video.
Thank you.<
