Singer Yeongtak expressed his feelings about participating as the narrator for "Sisters have returned."
On the afternoon of the 16th, the KBS1 sports documentary "Sisters have returned" held an online production press conference that was livestreamed on YouTube. The production press conference featured producer Son Seong-gwon, singer Yeongtak, and former handball player and Korea National Sport University professor Oh Seong-ok, who appeared and talked.
It is a sports documentary that rekindles the emotion of the greatest moments that were intense at the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics. It tells the story of the "Woosangsun" (the best moments of our lives) members, who had hung up their national team uniforms and were walking completely different paths as someone's wife, someone's mother, and as coaches, reuniting as one team after about 20 years to compete again.
Yeongtak, who joined as the narrator for "Sisters have returned," said, I am also known among people around me as a recreational athlete. I like all kinds of exercise overall and I like almost all ball games. I actually keep running steadily. I ran 5 km today as well. I have also played soccer for a long time. If you go back in time, I have a connection with handball. Not directly, but when I was in elementary school in Andong, our school had a girls' handball team. So because those friends were players, weren't they good? I remember we boys said, 'we won't lose,' and got soundly beaten. Those girls looked cool at the time. I have school days with friends, so I have another connection with handball, he said, conveying his special connection with handball.
When asked about his memories of the Athens Olympics, he recalled with emotion, Of course. I was an adult then. I watched it holding hands tightly. It's one of the unforgettable great scenes.
He said of his feelings when he was offered the narration for "Sisters have returned," There is no need to say more. The lives of these legendary athletes are truly woven in. Overall, it's a beautiful drama that many people can relate to and be motivated by, and the fact that I can be part of it with my voice is a very honorable moment, so I immediately said, 'If I won't be a burden, I'll do my best.'
Producer Son Seong-gwon expressed satisfaction, I was so eager. I wanted to have him. I thought his voice tone and emotion could accurately express what I want to convey through the program. As expected, he did really well. I felt glad we had him. The feelings I wanted to tell the public came through Yeongtak's voice, so the picture was very good.
When Yeongtak was asked about the most impressive moments during the narration recording, he conveyed emotion and raised expectations, saying, First of all, in terms of matches, the final match was the most impressive. Also, the various emotions of a player who finds it hard to make a cheerful decision — 'Can I do it?', 'Will it work?' Because as you live, courage tends to fade. The various emotions shown in the process of finding that courage really pierced through. I kept clearing my throat and drank water often while doing that.
Meanwhile, "Sisters have returned" will be broadcast at 8:10 p.m. on Dec. 21.
