Actors Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo of the film "Project Y" revealed anecdotes about how they grew closer through the production.
On the afternoon of the 16th, a production briefing for the film "Project Y" was held at Megabox COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Attendings included lead actors Han So-hee, Jeon Jong-seo, Kim Shin-rok, Jeong Young-joo, Lee Jae-gyun and YooA (Oh My Girl), and director Lee Hwan attended and talked about the film under the moderation of Jaejae.
Project Y is a film that depicts what happens when Miseon (Han So-hee) and Dokyung (Jeon Jong-seo), who lived dreaming of a different tomorrow amid the dazzling city, steal black money and gold bullion at the brink of their lives. It also raises expectations by showcasing the luminous chemistry and acting transformations of the two rising Chungmuro stars Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo.
Han So-hee spoke about the chemistry that actually deepened between her and Jeon Jong-seo while working on this project. She said, "First of all, Dokyung's character itself is wild and has a rough charm. Jong-seo is actually very pale and thin. When I saw Dokyung in the film, I didn't see any trace of Jong-seo at all, which felt refreshing. It was nice to see how much of Dokyung he absorbed. On a human level there are parts you shouldn't take after Dokyung, but he does share that easygoing side. Those things gave me a good feeling."
She also praised him, saying, "He was a friend whose on-set immersion while acting was very strong. I also received a lot of help in return. He seemed to be the driving force that allowed us to make scenes a little more enjoyable than what was on the script."
Jeon Jong-seo said, "Just having So-hee, who is a friend I shot scenes with, a colleague and a fellow cast member working on the same project, was a great comfort and source of strength as we shot this film. Because many scenes were shot in cold conditions and it is a dynamic film, there were many difficult scenes, we used our bodies a lot and needed a lot of energy to shoot these things. Watching her take the lead and jump into the shoot without holding back was surprising."
He also said with a laugh, "There was a lot I could learn from her as a person. So-hee is a cultured friend who likes to paint, and I received a few paintings from her." Han So-hee shot back, "I stole them," adding to the laughter. Jeon Jong-seo praised her, saying, "She has many talents I don't usually have and can't do," creating a warm atmosphere.
Project Y opens on Jan. 21, 2026.
