The film "Project Y" raises expectations starting with the main trailer.
On the 16th, the film "Project Y" (director Lee Hwan, provided by Plus M Entertainment·Fencher Invest, distributed by Plus M Entertainment, planned by Wowpoint (WOWPOINT)·Climax Studio, produced by Climax Studio·Wowpoint (WOWPOINT), co-produced by Plus M Entertainment) released the main trailer.
The crime entertaining movie "Project Y" is a work that depicts the story of Miseon and Dokyung, who dreamed of a different tomorrow while living in the middle of a glamorous city, and who, at the edge of their lives, steal black money and gold bullion.
The released main trailer grabs attention with a sensuous opening. Against a hip beat, Miseon (Han So-hee) and Dokyung (Jeon Jong-seo) walk through an underpass lit by lights of various colors, looking briefly free. But the lines "How much more are you going to hit rock bottom?" and "This isn't to avoid hitting bottom" are followed by Seokgu (Lee Jae-gyun)'s mocking voice saying "Word spread that she fell into the abyss showing off," which hints that Miseon and Dokyung have lost everything and are pushed to the edge.
Soon, the mood flips with the line "We have to survive somehow" as Miseon and Dokyung join forces to steal from Tosa-jang (Kim Seong-cheol) and find themselves in tense, precarious situations. Scenes of them digging a grave covered in dirt and fleeing in a hurried, pursued manner suggest they are engaging in life-threateningly dangerous acts. Added to this, Ga-young (Kim Shin-rok) taunts Miseon and Dokyung with "Looks like you caused a big incident," Tosa-jang shows a maniacal side, Hwangso (Jung Young-joo) exudes an overwhelming aura with a striking entrance, Seokgu (Lee Jae-gyun) appears despicable, and Hakyung (Yoo Ah) shows a composed face — these varied characters raise curiosity about how they will become entangled with one another.
Above all, the suggestive line "What else is down there?" and the faces of Miseon and Dokyung, greatly shocked after discovering something, plus the copy "Perfect plan, no regrets," increase expectations for the urgent incidents that will unfold between the two who risked everything to overturn their cliff-edge lives and the people chasing them.
"Project Y" opens in theaters on Jan. 21, 2026.
