A gaming YouTuber with 1 million subscribers, Sutak, announced his return after being kidnapped and assaulted.
On the afternoon of the 15th, Sutak posted on his personal YouTube channel, "The long-awaited first trial was held this morning, and because I never want to see the faces of the devilish perpetrators who tried to take everything from me again, only my attorney attended the courtroom," he wrote.
Sutak said, "As you can see from the articles that have been published, I think it will probably take a bit more time until the outcome is reached."
Earlier, Sutak was kidnapped and assaulted by two men in their 20s to 30s in an underground parking lot of an APT. The police, who received Sutak's report, arrested the kidnappers at a public cemetery in Geumsan, North Chungcheong, and indicted them while detained. It was revealed that they lured the victim under the pretext of a vehicle contract issue and planned to extort money and valuables.
The first trial was held this morning (the 15th) at the Incheon District Court, Criminal Division 13, where the kidnappers admitted to their charges. The next trial is scheduled for the 23rd of next month.
Sutak said, "The swift imposition of appropriate sentences on the perpetrators would be my greatest consolation and compensation for the damage, so I sincerely hope for a good result," and added, "During this time I have been receiving counseling and outpatient treatment to try to overcome these moments, but I hesitated to return because I worried that the bright appearance I show when I return might somehow be used to the perpetrators' advantage."
He continued, "But showing only victimhood and being depressed and lethargic until the trial ends would waste every single minute and second of my one and only life, so I'm thinking of returning to broadcasting as soon as tomorrow," he said.
Sutak expressed gratitude to his fans, saying, "You may be worried about my quick return, but this is the work to which I devoted my youth, and I believe I can do well again, so please don't worry too much. I am deeply thankful because many people showed interest in this case, shared their anger, and offered support and consolation, which gave me a lot of strength."
Meanwhile, Sutak suffered major injuries from the incident, including orbital fractures, a fracture of the ring finger, 35 stitches to the forehead and jaw, and decreased vision and hearing on the right side.
