Will Tsuki of "극한84" overcome the cosplay costume problem and finish the race?
On the 14th broadcast of MBC variety show "극한84," Kian84, Lee Eun-ji and Tsuki were shown departing for France to challenge the Médoc (wine) marathon.
That day Kian84 took on a special running lesson for new crew members Lee Eun-ji and Tsuki ahead of participating in the Médoc marathon. Beginner runner Lee Eun-ji ran aiming to maintain her pace, targeting a 7-minute range per kilometer, and Tsuki ran side by side with Kian84 while keeping a blank expression.
Surprised by Tsuki maintaining a 4-minute range per kilometer, Kian84 said, "Wow, you run well. You ran 5 km," and suggested intervals. In the interval run, when Tsuki ran 1 km in 3 minutes 55 seconds, Kian84 said, "That's too fast?" and instead showed a competitive side. Meanwhile, Lee Eun-ji was training under the direction of the camera director who commutes by running. Lee Eun-ji complained, "My stomach hurts. I can't run," but the camera director coldly said, "Just endure it twice."
After four sets of intervals, seeing Tsuki struggling, Kian84 said, "Tsuki started to sag. 'It's okay. Run slowly,' I said, but my mouth drew up. Words were worried? I won with inner thoughts," and candidly added, "Why try to run better than me. I might be a bit clumsy," revealing his honest feelings.
Even in the final sprint, when it seemed Kian84 might lose to Tsuki, he suggested running another 100 meters and won. Disappointed at losing, Tsuki said, "I'm so disappointed. This has never happened. I'm embarrassed. I really run well. I'll show a better performance next time," igniting a competitive spirit.
Kian84 said, "I'm always running only with people who run better than me, so running with friends who haven't run much gives me a strange sense of responsibility," but also smiled victoriously, saying, "What if Tsuki runs better than me? Then what would I be? It's friendly rivalry, but since they're our crew member I feel like I have to run better than this friend. I won."
Three days before the Médoc marathon, the three gathered at the airport heading to France. Kian84 said, "Hwa-woon is a professional runner, so he will run the full course at the Sydney marathon and then come to France to join," and took care of Lee Eun-ji and Tsuki.
Because it was her first marathon challenge, Lee Eun-ji said she would complete the half marathon, and Tsuki said, "I will aim to complete the full course within five hours."
Meanwhile, this year's Médoc marathon cosplay theme was "the sea." Kian84 and Kwon Hwa-woon prepared mackerel masks, Lee Eun-ji was a fisherman, and Tsuki showcased a red squid costume. However, with every run the rebound made their legs heavy, and to make matters worse, a problem arose where visibility was blocked, leading to a crisis.
Tsuki practiced running wearing the squid costume and said, "Honestly, I panicked. My legs are so heavy. The bounce throws off my body's rhythm," expressing worry.
Eventually running while holding the squid legs, Tsuki said, "I trained day and night for two months for this marathon," and lamented, "I'm scared for my future. My legs are so uncomfortable. I have to carry them and run. I want to finish the race."
