Band DAY6 will release their first seasonal song of their debut, "Lovin' the Christmas," today (15th) at 6 p.m.
With the spring-scented digital single "Maybe Tomorrow," which brightly opened the door to their 10th anniversary, DAY6 delivers a winter greeting of thanks to their long-time companions My Day (fan name: My Day) through the seasonal song "Lovin' the Christmas," the first seasonal song they have shown since their debut, and beautifully completes their 10th anniversary following abundant activities such as a full-length album, fan meetings and concerts.
DAY6 shared their thoughts through their agency JYP Entertainment on the day they released the special single (15th). Sungjin left a greeting saying, "I hope everyone has a warm Christmas," and Young K said, "I hope every year can be a merry Christmas with 'Lovin' the Christmas' now," as a playful request. Wonpil said, "I wanted to try working on a Christmas carol, and I'm glad we are able to show one. I hope you spend a warm year-end while listening to our carol," and Dowoon delivered his characteristically witty impression, saying, "Wow~ DAY6's first Christmas song has come out, it's awesome."
The members also introduced listening points for "Lovin' the Christmas." Sungjin said, "I think it's a song that is good to listen to with an excited heart while waiting for Christmas," Young K said, "I think it would be good to listen while imagining each person's Christmas. I hope you build your own memories with this song," Wonpil said, "I hope you ride your own rhythm and have an exciting and warm Christmas," and Dowoon recommended, "The chorus's freshness and the cozy atmosphere of Christmas are appealing."
The new song and seasonal song "Lovin' the Christmas" sings of warm, thrilling Christmas emotions. A Motown sound from the '60s and '70s raises a vintage mood while the sparkling melody and lyrics give a soft, dreamy feeling.
DAY6 will hold three performances of their solo concert "2025 DAY6 Special Concert 'The Present'" at KSPO DOME in Olympic Park, Songpa District, Seoul from the 19th to the 21st. On the final performance day, the 21st, an online paid live stream will be simultaneously held through the Beyond LIVE platform.
