MBN marathon variety show 'Run to Live season 2' guest crew member and former short track national team member Kwak Yun-gi surprises everyone by transforming from a "fun runner" to a "hardcore runner" under Go Han-min's special orders.
In episode 4 of MBN 'Run to Live season 2,' airing on the 15th, set against the "Hongcheon Love Marathon" held in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, a "civil war" relay marathon unfolds in which teams of three run successive half-course legs.
Kwak Yun-gi, who appears as a "guest crew" that day, introduces himself by saying, "I am a fun-runner who enjoys running!" But on the day of the event, he is taken aback after receiving a secret order from teammate Go Han-min. Kwak Yun-gi is surprised by Go Han-min's secret instructions delivered through his manager and says, "I've never had to run like this...," looking troubled. But soon he adds, "I can't be a burden to the team," and radiates a determined look. A short time later, as he enters the race, he makes a 180-degree turn from a "fun runner" into a "hardcore runner." Seeing this, commentators Bae Seong-jae and Yoon Yeo-chun marvel, "As expected, former athletes are different!"
With curiosity growing about what kind of race Kwak Yun-gi will show after changing dramatically under Go Han-min's special orders, Yang Se-hyung and Choi Young-joon also appear in the same section to engage in a friendly competition. Yang Se-hyung, who usually takes pride in being a runner, predicts an advantage over his rival Choi Young-joon, saying, "So far my times have been better than his (Choi Young-joon)." However, Choi Young-joon sets an "overpace" level speed and pulls ahead of Yang Se-hyung from the start. Flustered, Yang Se-hyung says, "That guy came to grind his teeth," and makes another sprint. Then Choi Young-joon suddenly complains of flank pain and stretches, creating tension. He says, "My side keeps hurting so much," in pain, and adds, "Still, I can't stop for the team," showing a fighting spirit.
As interest grows over who will come out on top in the two runners' race, Im Soo-hyang, teamed with the members she wanted, declares with firm resolve, "I'll run until my thighs burst." But while touring the marathon course with her teammates beforehand, she causes a "pupil quake" saying, "Is that a ski resort?" Why Im Soo-hyang complained of a "mental breakdown" before the race even began and the relay marathon scene of the "Run to Live crew," split into three teams and entering the "civil war," can be seen in episode 4 of MBN 'Run to Live season 2,' airing at 10:10 p.m. on the 15th.
