Singer Nam Woo-hyun successfully concluded the first performance of the musical "Sugar."
On the 14th at 2:30 p.m., Nam Woo-hyun met the audience as Jo (Josephine) in the musical "Sugar," which was staged at the Seoul KEPCO Art Center grand theater.
The musical "Sugar" is based on the classic comedy film Some Like It Hot, a work loved worldwide. Set in the Prohibition era of 1929, it cheerfully depicts the chaotic mishaps that occur when two jazz musicians who accidentally witness a gang murder disguise themselves as women and join an all-female band to save their lives.
In "Sugar," Nam Woo-hyun gave a passionate performance as Jo (Josephine), a romantic saxophonist who cross-dresses to survive. Along with acting skills honed through numerous works, he unleashed the solid vocal power befitting the main vocalist of K-pop representative INFINITE, dominating the stage.
In particular, Nam Woo-hyun enhanced the play's immersion with a deeply nuanced portrayal of Jo's charm, combining sharp intelligence and a pleasant twist of charm. With bold cross-dressing highlighted by heavy makeup and alluring gestures, he showcased a different acting transformation that drew enthusiastic applause from the audience.
After successfully finishing the first performance of the musical "Sugar" amid cheers, Nam Woo-hyun said through his agency Billions, "It is such an honor to be able to put on a great performance together with many seniors and juniors. I hope more audience members celebrate the year-end and New Year's events with 'Sugar' and finish 2025 in good health. I sincerely thank everyone who came to the first performance of 'Sugar,' and I ask for your continued interest going forward."
The musical "Sugar," featuring Nam Woo-hyun, will run at the Seoul KEPCO Art Center grand theater through Feb. 22, 2026.
