Ko Joon revealed the pain of experiencing hemiplegia.
On the 15th broadcast of Channel A "Best Friend Tokumentary - Four-person Table" (hereafter Four-person Table), Ko Joon appears, and the program depicted him inviting close friends actor Jo Jae-yoon and comedian Lee Sang-jun.
Ko Joon said he endured obscurity for about 20 years and introduced fried egg as his soul food, saying, "During my unknown years, I lived in an underground practice room without a home for seven years. The staple I ate every day was fried eggs."
Ko Joon said he became known by "Tazza 2" after a long period of obscurity. He said, "It was an opportunity that came after 18 years. I longed for it so much. I had almost finished filming when hemiplegia came. Living like the character in the drama weakened my immunity, shingles came up and reached my brain. What kind of damage is this?" he said, adding that just as he was about to meet hope he faced another crisis.
He said, "The golden time was six months. They said if that passed the prognosis would remain for life. Even after seven months it was facial paralysis. I visited seven hospitals and received treatment, and six places told me I would not be able to act in the future. I lost my dream and profession once again."
Ko Joon explained, "I met such a wonderful production team who waited for me. How much must they have worried. When one side doesn't move, the other muscles all sag. They made a skeletal structure with wire and put it in my mouth to lift the muscles. I acted in that condition. The sharp wire tore my gums. The production staff were considerate and filmed only one side of my face so the (painful) face wouldn't appear."
Ko Joon said, "I received 100 to 200 acupuncture shots every day. I battled illness for two and a half years. It's been 10 years. The end was predetermined. Not being able to act. But miraculously I recovered like this," saying he lived a life like a drama.
