A person who exposed rumors about actor Lee Yi-kyung's private life claims that private photos were leaked without their consent.
A, the person who exposed Lee Yi-kyung's private life rumors, said, "Since I exposed a particular actor, I have been subject to continuous threats. Starting two days ago, an Instagram account was newly created to intentionally damage my personal information, and that account has been posting manipulated KakaoTalk conversation screenshots generated by an app and private photos distributed without my consent."
She added, "Perhaps because the initially posted KakaoTalk conversation was unconvincingly unnatural, the account deleted the subsequent posts and reuploaded them after blurring the images. However, I have already captured and stored the clearly fabricated KakaoTalk conversation screen that was first posted."
She emphasized, "The important point here is that the airplane selfie photo with a hat used in the manipulated KakaoTalk conversation is a photo owned only by the actor and me. I never shared that photo with anyone, and because it was used in a fabricated conversation created to make a false narrative, I judge its source to be clear."
She explained, "In general, these conversation-generating apps are deliberately designed with subtle differences from the real KakaoTalk to prevent malicious misuse or misunderstanding, and even if not visible on the screen, they often leave generation traces or watermarks inside the image."
A said, "Also, that account included parts of actual KakaoTalk conversations that I did not have in my possession and that were exchanged only between the actor and me, and among them were sensitive personal details related to my family's company
She added, "This is information that cannot be known through simple speculation or a third party's fabrication, and I judge there is a clear intent to damage personal information."
Finally, she took a firm stance, saying, "I am currently recording and preserving all circumstances and evidence related to the distribution of the fabricated KakaoTalk conversations, the leak of private photos, intentional personal information damage and threats, and I clearly state that I will no longer tolerate this and will take appropriate legal action."
A has been releasing messages she said she exchanged with Lee Yi-kyung, claiming to expose his private life. However, after the exposure she reversed her position, saying the messages were manipulated by AI and apologizing, and she has made inconsistent claims such as pleading her innocence.
Lee Yi-kyung has filed a complaint for defamation, among other charges, over the spread of false information and is awaiting the results of the investigation. Lee Yi-kyung said, "I went to give a complainant statement, and I conveyed my position about the rumors. I completed the complaint procedure for threats and defamation by dissemination of false information. Even if the person is German, I will go to Germany to file a complaint."
Lee Yi-kyung also said at an awards ceremony, "The current suspect is sending apologies and requests for mercy to the company email. I think we will catch them no matter what."
