Singer and producer ZICO is expanding his musical territory once again with a fresh collaboration.
ZICO will released a new digital single, "DUET," at 12 a.m. on the 19th. It is a duet song newly released by ZICO, who has consistently worked with artists across various genres. This time he collaborates with famous Japanese musician Lilas (Lilas, YOASOBI Ikura).
ZICO has presented diverse music through collaborations. His distinctive tracks blending with his collaborators' musical colors have produced fresh results. "SPOT!(feat. JENNIE)," which he released with Blackpink's Jennie, became one of last year's biggest hits. In June this year he released "EKO EKO" with famous Japanese artist m-flo. The genre- and language-crossing combinations drew enthusiastic responses. In addition, tracks that helped lead the domestic hip-hop boom — "Saebing (Prod. ZICO) (Feat. Homies)," "Malhae Yes Or No (Feat. PENOMECO, The Quiett)," as well as "SoulMate (Feat. IU)" with IU and "Summer Hate (Feat. Rain)" with Rain — were all greatly loved by music fans.
The new song with Lilas is also generating anticipation. Even the unexpected pairing is novel. ZICO is a musician who symbolizes Korean hip-hop, while Lilas is recognized through YOASOBI activities and solo work as a leading figure in Japanese band music. Attention is focused on the synergy that the meeting of the "top-tier" from each country and genre will produce.
ZICO has been dropping hints about "DUET" on his personal social media and YouTube channel. A previously released meeting video included part of the new song, drawing attention. The bright, upbeat track increased curiosity about the full version. ZICO plans to release behind-the-scenes material and related content for "DUET" sequentially.
