"I have no license" admitted the so-called "IV aunt," the "injection aunt" who disappeared… spread of allegations of illegal medical treatment on Park Na-rae
The so-called "IV aunt" and "injection aunt," accused of performing illegal medical procedures on comedian Park Na-rae, are showing different actions and the controversy is spreading. The "IV aunt" admitted to being unlicensed, while the "injection aunt" claimed to be a medical professional but deleted her social media and disappeared.
According to a Channel A report on the 10th, Park Na-rae is suspected of receiving an intravenous fluid treatment from a person known as the "IV aunt" in a hotel room in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province, where she stayed for a variety show shoot in July last year. The former manager who sued Park Na-rae claimed, "A person in ordinary clothes, not a doctor's gown, entered the hotel room and administered the IV," and added, "This person is completely different from the previously known 'injection aunt.'"
The former manager said Park Na-rae personally requested that person be hired and that there is a text message negotiating a 250,000 won fee for the visit. The released message included the line, "It's 250,000 won, please consider the fuel cost," and there were indications that the amount was deposited into an account under the name of a company executive.
In connection with this, The Munhwa Ilbo Company published an interview on the 15th with B, who was identified as the "IV aunt." B acknowledged that the account number appearing in the messenger conversation was indeed hers, but answered "I have no idea" when asked whether she had performed medical procedures on Park Na-rae. When asked if she knew Park Na-rae, she said, "I know her," but regarding whether she performed the procedure, she insisted, "I don't remember."
In particular, B directly admitted that she was not a licensed medical professional such as a doctor or nurse. Asked whether she had obtained a license, she answered, "No," and said, "Before the separation of prescription and dispensing, I worked at a hospital and sometimes earned pocket money by having the local pharmacy send things." She added, "After the separation of prescription and dispensing, there were no drugs so I did not perform procedures, and I quit long ago because of my age and poor eyesight."
By contrast, A, known as the "injection aunt," showed a completely different attitude. A posted a photo on her past social media wearing a doctor's gown and claimed, "a former professor at Inner Mongolia Fokang Medical University Hospital," emphasizing that she was a medical professional. However, she later deleted that social media account and has not appeared since.
Thus, the "IV aunt" admitted being unlicensed while denying performing the procedure, and the "injection aunt" claimed to have a license but disappeared, further amplifying the controversy.
Meanwhile, as allegations of former manager abuse and illegal medical practices continued, Park Na-rae announced on the 8th that she would suspend her broadcasting activities. Accordingly, she has left tvN's Amazing Saturday as well as MBC's I Live Alone and Save Me! Homes. With the key figures in the allegations offering different claims or hiding their whereabouts, the illegal medical controversy surrounding Park Na-rae does not appear likely to subside soon.
