Comedian Park Narae has finally heard from B, the person nicknamed "IV aunt" who is suspected of performing illegal medical procedures on her.
On the 10th Channel A raised allegations that Park Narae was given IV fluids by a person called the "IV aunt" who was called to a hotel in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang, where she was staying during a variety show shoot in July last year. The former manager who sued Park Narae said the person entered the hotel room wearing ordinary clothes, not a doctor's gown, and gave her an IV, arguing that this person was entirely different from the previously reported "injection aunt."
It was reported that Park Narae directly asked a manager to arrange the person during the shoot, and that there are text messages negotiating the travel expense. The released messages contained the line "It's 250,000 won, but please consider the fuel cost," and there were indications that the fee was deposited under the name of an executive of her agency.
The Munhwa Ilbo Company published an interview with B, the "IV aunt," on the 15th. B said the account number in the messenger conversation was indeed hers, but when asked whether she performed medical procedures on Park Narae she replied, "I don't know at all."
She also said she knew who Park Narae was but insisted, "I don't remember at all" when asked whether she had provided illegal treatment.
Above all, B directly confirmed that she was not a licensed medical professional such as a doctor or nurse. When asked whether she held a license she answered "no," and said, "Before the separation of dispensing and prescribing, I worked at a hospital, and the neighborhood pharmacy would send me things so I made about enough for side dishes. Then I quit and didn't do anything."
Regarding whether she continued to perform illegal medical procedures, she said, "Since the separation of dispensing and prescribing, there are no drugs so I don't do it at all," adding, "It's been a long time since I quit. I'm old, my eyesight is poor, so..."
Meanwhile, Park Narae has stepped down from tvN's "Amazing Saturday" as well as MBC's "I Live Alone" and "Home for Rescue!" amid allegations of her former manager's abuse of power and controversy over illegal medical practices.
