On 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2', psychiatrist Oh Jin-seung candidly shared his recent situation following past lying controversies.
In the episode of the SBS entertainment program "You Are My Destiny—Same Bed, Different Dreams 2" aired on the 15th, psychiatrist Oh Jin-seung and announcer Kim Do-yeon visited a psychiatric clinic. That day the two entered the hospital with somewhat awkward expressions, saying, "We never thought we'd come here" and "This isn't a flaw."
It turned out that this visit was for Oh Jin-seung to receive counseling in the position of a "patient," not as a doctor. The two visited a junior psychiatrist who they know from the same alma mater and who specializes in couples counseling to review their marital relationship. Unlike Oh Jin-seung, who has mainly treated youth depression, the specialist said they mainly handle couples counseling, drawing attention.
When asked, "Can't you make your own diagnosis?" Oh Jin-seung replied, "Couples issues are not my specialty," and upon hearing this, Kim Gu-ra joked, "My wife fundamentally does not greatly trust her husband," drawing laughter.
The counseling naturally led to discussion of Oh Jin-seung's "lying controversy." Previously, Oh Jin-seung caused controversy when it was revealed that his statements on broadcasts and YouTube that "Dr. Oh Eun-young is my aunt" and "actor Oh Jung-se is my cousin" were not true.
Regarding this, his wife Kim Do-yeon expressed concern, saying, "A lie said like a joke can be fun, but if you don't separate public and private matters, you can cause unnecessary misunderstandings." She candidly added, "He says he wants to attract attention, but he is already doing a lot on YouTube. How much more attention does he want to get?"
In response, Oh Jin-seung emphasized, "I don't lie to my patients." However, when asked, "After the lying controversy, did patients stop coming?" he honestly replied, "I haven't checked that exactly. But the number of patients did not increase."
He went on to say, "I tried to be careful about appearing on broadcasts to promote the clinic, but instead I was approached for a program with the concept of 'who lies better'," conveying an ironic situation. Oh Jin-seung smiled and said, "So I will try to be more careful."
Meanwhile, the episode left viewers with an opportunity to once again consider the weight and responsibility of words as public figures, along with the daily life of the doctor couple.<
