Actor Lee Min-jung surpassed 500,000 subscribers, and the blur covering her husband Lee Byung-hun that she had pledged was removed. While fulfilling the pledge caused a small misunderstanding, she added a cute self-reproach, calling it "this damn club of helpers."
On the 15th, the "Lee Min-jung MJ" channel posted a short video titled "A congratulatory video flown in from overseas (not AI)" and "Finally Lee Byung-hun blur removed."
In the released video, Lee Byung-hun said, "Hello, this is Lee Byung-hun. Congratulations on MJ YouTube reaching 500,000 subscribers," and added, "Now that there is no blur, I'm greeting you with hair and makeup and full outfit. I hope MJ YouTube continues to develop into a channel that brings joy to many people. Fighting," delivering a congratulatory message.
That day Lee Min-jung wrote on the community board, "When we started YouTube, the PD said, 'If you reach 500,000 people within this year, that would be really great,' and thankfully we reached 500,000 subscribers eight months after we started," and expressed gratitude, saying, "There must have been many shortcomings, but thank you so, so much for watching with interest."
She also directly addressed the "500,000 pledge" that drew fans' attention, namely the removal of the blur over her husband Lee Byung-hun. Lee Min-jung said, "More important than the pledge is an actor's portrait rights," and added, "I want to respect BH's (Lee Byung-hun) opinion. If he feels comfortable and the moment comes when he wants to remove the blur himself, wouldn't it be better to do it naturally then?"
Earlier in March, after launching the YouTube channel "Lee Min-jung MJ," Lee Min-jung pledged, "I will keep my husband Lee Byung-hun's face blurred until the channel exceeds 500,000 subscribers," and when the channel surpassed 500,000 this time, a congratulatory video from Lee Byung-hun overseas arrived immediately, attracting attention.
When Lee Min-jung removed the blur over her husband Lee Byung-hun, she said, "This is our first time fulfilling a pledge, so I apologize for using wording that could cause misunderstanding. Meanwhile, Lee Min-jung and Lee Byung-hun married in 2013 and have one son and one daughter. Lee Byung-hun is reportedly staying in the United States as his leading film No Other Choice is campaigning for the Oscars and has been nominated at the Critics' Choice Awards and the Golden Globe Awards. Lee Byung-hun is a nominee for best actor at the Golden Globe Awards to be held on Jan. 11 next year, competing with Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet and others.
