Rapper Jaekiwy has confessed to dating violence by music producer and former partner Vangdale, and the reason is also causing sorrow.
Jaekiwy on the 12th posted photos on her personal social media exposing dating violence by her ex.
In the released photos Jaekiwy appears bruised on her face and body from assault. She said, "I couldn't go outside for two weeks," and "earlier he knocked on my door for an hour, entered the password, and on the day I was hit he wouldn't let me leave his house," expressing her pain.
Jaekiwy said about why she confessed to these harms, "This was the only way to completely break up. Once I post it, he doesn't contact me. I'm sorry if this makes you uncomfortable," claiming she had no choice but to expose the dating violence for a safe breakup.
However, Vangdale, who was accused of the assaults, denied it, saying, "You're making me look like a monster using a picture of someone hurt while I was stopping them from rampaging," and denied the claims. Jaekiwy also added a post to Vangdale's denial: "I was hit so much I felt like X and I admit I slapped him. But 99% of the time I was the one beaten and vilified, yet you only posted what you suffered to push me to ruin,"
In addition, Jaekiwy claimed Vangdale also confined her and threatened her with a weapon, and said she informed his agency and received an apology but regretted softening and taking him back.
Jaekiwy said in pain, "Since the day he confined me, I could only think, 'how do I break up?' Now I don't care if I stop making music. I don't care if my image is tarnished. I just wanted to live and leave, so I disclosed it. I don't care if I'm mocked or pointed at as a liar."
However, the posts have all been deleted. On the 15th, a representative of Jaekiwy's agency AOMG told OSEN cautiously, "We have been watching after seeing Jaekiwy's recent social media posts. However, we are still confirming the specific facts."
Afterward, AOMG said it is responding together with the agency through legal procedures regarding the disclosure of dating violence 피해.
In a press release AOMG said, "Jaekiwy shared with the company that she was a victim of dating violence that occurred during a relationship, and the matter will be handled according to legal procedures. Prioritizing the artist's physical and mental safety and recovery, we are providing all necessary support, including legal counsel."
It added, "The matter is currently under review through judicial procedures, and we refrain from commenting further on specific details that could affect investigation and legal judgment. Please be mindful that spreading unfounded speculation or unverified information and actions that could lead to secondary harm can inflict further wounds on the artist," and emphasized, "We will work to ensure the artist can work in a safe environment."
Meanwhile, Jaekiwy and Vangdale collaborated on Jaekiwy's full-length album 'Mollak' released in July. Vangdale produced all the tracks, and earlier in February the two released the collaboration single "Spoil U."
Jaekiwy was active in the underground scene and officially debuted by releasing her first EP 'EXPOSURE' as a full album in 2016. She is currently an artist under AOMG. Vangdale is a producer affiliated with KC, founded by rapper Sik-K.
