Actor Jung Woo-sung briefly shared his feelings about his first comeback project since the out-of-wedlock child scandal.
On the morning of Dec. 15 at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, a production presentation was held for the new Disney+ series "Made In Korea." Director Woo Min-ho attended the production presentation along with actors Hyun Bin, Jung Woo-sung, Woo Do-hwan, Seo Eun-soo, Won Ji-an, Jung Sung-il, Kang Gil-woo, Noh Jae-won and Park Yong-woo.
"Made In Korea" is the story of Baek Ki-tae (played by Hyun Bin), who seeks to use the state as a revenue model to rise to the pinnacle of wealth and power, and prosecutor Jang Geon-young (played by Jung Woo-sung), who pursues him with terrifying determination to the brink, confronting enormous events that span the era in a Korea where chaos and upheaval coexisted in the 1970s. It is made up of six episodes and will be released on Dec. 24.
That day Jung Woo-sung stood on a domestic official stage for the first time since the out-of-wedlock child scandal that surfaced in November last year. He became embroiled in a private life controversy after acknowledging that the son of model Moon Gabi was his biological child, and later drew attention again when it was revealed that he had registered his marriage with a long-term partner.
At the time Jung Woo-sung said he would do his best as the child's father, then refrained from official activities for a while, and after a year he announced his return with "Made In Korea."
Since the out-of-wedlock child scandal occurred during filming, his feelings about working on this project were expected to be special. Jung Woo-sung replied, "I hope it reaches viewers as an enjoyable work." However, regarding questions related to the scandal he briefly answered, "I understand what the questions you asked are about, but I ask for your understanding that I cannot speak at length about my private feelings."
Meanwhile, Disney+ "Made In Korea" will be released on Dec. 24.
