Cho Sae-ho, who stepped down amid allegations of involvement with organized crime, appeared on 2 Days & 1 Night without being edited.
The KBS 2TV variety program 2 Days & 1 Night, broadcast on the afternoon of the 14th, included unedited footage of Cho Sae-ho. Because the footage was recorded before his announcement to suspend activities, like last week, Cho Sae-ho's appearance was shown as is.
The episode portrayed the second part of the trip to Andong in North Gyeongsang Province. As a yangban, Cho Sae-ho bickered with servant Kim Jong-min and completed a 'comedic chemistry' of laughter, and he maintained his status by grabbing the servant so he could not run away. Cho Sae-ho was active, even throwing his body to catch Kim Jong-min.
Yangban Cho Sae-ho and servant Kim Jong-min boasted a pleasant chemistry despite bickering. During a break, Cho Sae-ho pointed to the service menu for Kim Jong-min and asked for a massage, and he scolded Kim Jong-min for adding salt to the sikhye.
Still, Cho Sae-ho said he felt hurt, saying, "We have spent years together; what would I have done?" and then suggested to the other yangbans, "Our fool (Kim Jong-min) has admitted his mistake, so how about forgiving him once in a while?" Afterwards, Kim Jong-min, having prepared sikhye again, floated fallen leaves in it for Cho Sae-ho to make him laugh.
In particular, on the night of 'chuno' Cho Sae-ho caught a runaway servant and preserved his yangban status. Before sleep, Lee Joon informed Cho Sae-ho and Moon Se-yoon of information the production team had told only the servants Kim Jong-min, DinDin and Yoo Seon-ho. In response, Cho Sae-ho checked the conditions of the servants sleeping outdoors, found it strange that they were wearing shoes, and spread out futons on the wooden floor. In the end, by catching the fleeing Kim Jong-min, he was able to remain the only yangban.
Thus, Cho Sae-ho's activities drew attention as he appeared on 2 Days & 1 Night without editing even after announcing the suspension of activities. He also caught attention by appearing in the next week's preview revealed at the end of the broadcast.
Earlier, amid controversy over allegations of ties to organized crime, Cho Sae-ho had said, "I will clear up any misunderstandings, dispel all current suspicions completely and return in a healthy state." As a result, he will step down from 2 Days & 1 Night and the cable channel tvN's You Quiz on the Block.
The 2 Days & 1 Night side said that after Cho Sae-ho's departure the show will proceed with five members, and stated, "Starting with recordings after the previously conducted shoots, Cho Sae-ho will not participate in the program."
Recently, a netizen A, nicknamed 'Pyo inspector', claimed via social media that Cho Sae-ho was connected to Choi, an organized crime boss said to be the most powerful figure in the Geochang region, sparking controversy. A claimed that Choi was a figure who laundered illegal funds through online illegal gambling and alleged that Cho Sae-ho promoted Choi's franchise and received expensive gifts as payment, asserting collusion.
Cho Sae-ho's agency A2Z Entertainment said in response, "Choi is merely an acquaintance, and there is no quid pro quo relationship. We are preparing legal action against the spreading false information."
