Group EXO member Lay announced he would not attend the fan meeting on the day and departed for China early that morning.
On the 14th, his agency SM Entertainment told OSEN, "Today Lay departed for China," in an official statement. However, regarding the reason they gave a cautious response, calling it "personal circumstances."
Earlier that day SM Entertainment announced on a fan community platform, "Due to unavoidable circumstances, member Lay will inevitably be unable to attend the fan meeting."
SM said, "We ask for your understanding for informing fans who waited and supported us for a long time of the sudden change in participating members, and please check the ticket cancellation and refund policy due to the change in participating members."
As a result, only five members—Suho, Chanyeol, DIO, Kai and Sehun—participated in the 2 p.m. fan meeting. The members reportedly also said at the fan meeting that Lay's absence was due to an unavoidable matter and that "Lay was also very disappointed."
Meanwhile, EXO's fan meeting "EXO'verse" will be held twice on Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Inspire Arena in Jung-gu, Incheon.<
