Park Na-rae, who has recently faced public backlash over alleged abuse by a former manager, assault accusations and illegal medical practice controversies, disappeared from Amazing Saturday after leaving the show, while SHINee's Key, who continues to be mentioned in the "injection aunt" controversy, appeared as normal, sparking debate online.
On the 13th, tvN's Amazing Saturday aired a "Perfect 2011 man" special. However, that broadcast drew attention because footage of Park Na-rae, who had already announced a hiatus from activities, was completely edited out. Aside from a scene in which Park Na-rae's voice is heard briefly during the game, the reaction is that her appearance was virtually erased.
By contrast, Key appeared without any special edits. That day he said he was "recreating Hyun Bin's role from Secret Garden," appeared wearing a sparkly tracksuit and turned the set into a sea of laughter with his characteristic wit.
But online, controversy erupted when Key continued to appear while Park Na-rae was completely edited out. Recently Key has been embroiled in suspicions after appearing in past social media posts of person A, who was called Park Na-rae's "injection aunt." At the time, videos showing A filming inside Key's home and his pet dog spread, with A saying "a relationship of more than 10 years."
After A deleted the social media account, fans have continued to demand that Key "clarify the facts." However, neither Key nor his agency has issued any statement so far.
Viewer reactions are divided. Some took a cautious view, saying, "There is nothing clearly established yet, so there is no problem with his appearance," and, "It is fine for him to appear on the show until he issues a position." Other viewers urged him to make a statement, saying, "He should explain quickly," "Organize your position before the controversy grows," and, "This is not something to quietly let pass."
