Girls' Generation member Tiffany and actor Byun Yo-han announced their marriage next year, drawing renewed attention to past incidents such as on-screen kiss scenes and lovestagram posts.
On the 13th, reports emerged that Byun Yo-han and Tiffany Young plan to marry next fall, and Team HOF, Byun Yo-han's agency, told OSEN that the two actors are currently in a serious relationship with marriage as the premise, saying, "There are no specific schedules confirmed yet, but both actors conveyed the wish to inform fans first the moment plans are decided," noting that the wedding may not be far off.
The work where Byun Yo-han and Tiffany first connected was the Disney+ series "Uncle SamSik," released in May last year. There they played opposite each other and filmed intense kiss scenes, and through that, their relationship developed from colleagues to lovers, resulting in love's fruition after a year and a half.
"Uncle SamSik," which developed them into a couple, is receiving renewed attention, especially as the kiss scenes are being revisited. At the time, Tiffany said in an interview, "Our partnership matched well. I didn't have much experience in the role and it was my first kiss scene, but it was such an intense and heated kiss scene that it was fun. (Byun Yo-han) had a beard so it was almost like an action scene. When we filmed it, my lips were swollen and my facial skin gradually turned red. We filmed it like an action scene. It was like filming a synchronized dance number with 'ooak let's go' or something," she said.
Among Girls' Generation members, the one expected to marry first was Su-young, who had been in a relationship with Jung Kyung-ho for more than 10 years. After dating rumors surfaced in February and October 2013 and their dating was officially acknowledged when spotted together in 2014, they have continued a public relationship for 12 years, showing affection for each other openly, so good news was anticipated like the Kim Woo-bin–Shin Mina couple. However, with Tiffany simultaneously revealing her relationship and marriage with boyfriend Byun Yo-han, she appears likely to become the first married member of Girls' Generation.
Girls' Generation, which debuted in 2007, has been active for more than 18 years but notably has few married members. Among second-generation girl groups such as Wonder Girls and T-ara, Sunye, Hyomin, and recently Ham Eun-jung have married or become mothers, but Girls' Generation seemed far from becoming a group of married women. With Tiffany announcing a relationship on the premise of marriage, attention has intensified.
Shortly after the marriage news was revealed, Tiffany posted on her personal account, "I am currently in a serious relationship with one person with the intention of marriage. He makes me view the world with a positive, hopeful gaze and gives me stability," adding, "There are no specific schedules yet, but if an important decision arises, I will inform fans directly first. I am truly grateful for your long-time support and for always watching over me with warm eyes. I will cherish that feeling and repay you by doing my best in my place going forward," leaving a handwritten letter about her relationship with Byun Yo-han.
Byun Yo-han also wrote, "I am cautious and nervous that fans may be surprised by the sudden news. I am in a relationship with a wonderful person with marriage as the premise. There are no specific dates or plans decided yet. Above all, I always wanted to be the first to share this news with fans," adding in a handwritten letter, "(Tiffany) makes me want to become a better person when we are together, and when I see her smiling, my tired heart quickly warms; I met someone I love. We will let each other's laughter be healthy joy and each other's sorrow be healthy maturity so we can become actors who convey warmer hearts."
