Actor Hong Su-ju varied the different currents of historical-romance and led the center of the incident.
Hong Su-ju recently in the MBC Friday-Saturday drama "The River Igang Flows With a Moon (abbreviated Igangdal)" plays the role of Kim Woo-hee, a woman who wants to hold Joseon in her hands solely for Jeong-in, acting as a historical-romance cheat key and conveying everything from resolute determination to thrilling tension and excitement.
When Jeong-in was about to leave for Qing with Prince Je-un (played by Lee Shin-young) but Kim Woo-hee was trapped in a detached palace, she was filled with worry when Bak Dal-i (played by Kim Se-jung) faced the threat of execution by cangue. If the cangue were carried out and the crown prince (Kang Tae-oh) also collapsed, there would be no one to pull out Kim Han-cheol (played by Jin Goo), the absolute ruler and her father, so her anxiety reached a peak.
Accordingly, Kim Woo-hee showed the wisdom to deceive as if rushing the national marriage and slipped a note into the wedding garment to deliver to the crown prince. It was a note saying she would draw attention and that Bak Dal-i should leave the palace with her. Later, Kim Woo-hee entered the palace prison instead of Bak Dal-i and succeeded in confronting Kim Han-cheol, captivating viewers with unpredictable actions.
On the other hand, Prince Je-un knew all of this would pose a threat to Kim Woo-hee and suggested they run away, but Kim Woo-hee showed depth by enduring for the greater cause. In particular, Kim Woo-hee conveyed in an affectionate look that from the moment she first saw Prince Je-un until now she only wished for his safety, while moving forward with resolute determination toward the goal of preventing the left state councillor, evoking emotion.
In this way, Hong Su-ju, at the center of the incident, varies from excitement to tension and portrays the character's charm three-dimensionally, delicately adding features of the character that change with each situation.
In particular, Yeori, who had been with her for a long time as her maid and friend, consistently feigned ignorance when questioned about Bak Dal-i's whereabouts and was killed by her father, ending her life. In this scene Hong Su-ju left a strong impression by expressing the deep sadness of losing a friend with heartrending tears.
The River Igang Flows With a Moon is a romantic fantasy historical drama about a crown prince who has lost his smile and a minister of the interior who has lost his memory undergoing a soul swap perspective-shifting (易地四肢).
