Nonverbal comedy performance team Ongals member Jo Jun-woo said he underwent emergency surgery for a cerebral hemorrhage.
On the 12th he wrote on his SNS, "This is Ongals' Jo Jun-woo. I was diagnosed with a cerebral hemorrhage on Dec. 4 and underwent emergency surgery."
He said, "I was in the intensive care unit for two days and am now recovering," adding, "I won't be able to greet people on the Ongals stage for a while, but Ongals performances will continue without pause."
He added, "Please give me your 관심, and I will recover well and return."
Colleagues also sent messages of support after Jo Jun-woo's sudden surgery was announced. Shin Ae-ra left a comment saying, "I will pray," Lee Sang-hoon wrote, "I pray that you, senior, recover completely without aftereffects," Shin Bong-sun said, "Oppa, get well soon," and Kim Ki-ri, Song Byung-geun and others posted messages of consolation and encouragement.
Meanwhile, Ongals was formed in 2007 through KBS' Gag Concert - Ongals corner and presents "nonverbal performance" that evokes laughter through juggling, mime and beatboxing.
They have been recognized overseas, performing at international comedy festivals after participating in the prestigious Edinburgh Festival in the U.K. in 2010, and receiving invitations to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Montreux Comedy Festival in Switzerland, the Sydney International Comedy Festival and others.
