Broadcast personality Choi Dong-seok revealed a harrowing anecdote about his disk rupturing and him collapsing naked.
On the 11th, the YouTube channel 'Kim Hyun-wook's news not, let's have a drink' featured Choi Dong-seok, who lives in Jeju, appearing and having a candid conversation with Kim Hyun-wook.
Choi Dong-seok, who said he has been staying in Jeju for five years, said, "The natural environment is good, but it's not easy to meet people so I get bored sometimes," and said, "Because of business I plan to change my living pattern from being in Seoul to going down to Jeju."
He went on to mention the disk rupture incident he experienced last year. Recalling the situation, Choi Dong-seok said, "In the morning I was going to eat hangover soup with hyung (Kim Hyun-wook), so I was washing up and brushing my teeth naked. But when I coughed 'kolok' my disk burst."
He said, "If it ruptures you can't stand or sit. I just collapsed to the floor," and relayed the "bittersweet" behind-the-scenes: "I crawled to get my phone and pressed 119… but I couldn't call in that naked state. I crawled back, put on underwear, called a younger sibling who lives nearby, and went to the hospital."
Meanwhile, Choi Dong-seok married fellow 2009 KBS announcer classmate Park Ji-yoon and had two children, but announced their divorce in 2023.
Park Ji-yoon took custody and parental authority, and the two have experienced conflict including filing countersuits in an adultery-related lawsuit. Recent reports also said the trial date for that lawsuit has been set for next year.
